Guys I've just noticed that my first app made first dollar the last week This is first revenue ever I've gained from my apps I know it's nothing, but it's such a big milestone for me, I'm incredibly happy from this beam of sunshine among long days of grinding #buildinpublic

I notice that lately I keep having to say “I don’t know” to friends asking about my coding setup (and secretly think “and I don’t care tbh”) These days LLMs are smart enough and harnesses matured to a point that I can just focus on more high-level things like my goals or how I like the work. What’s happening at a lower level like which skill files it uses, what hooks are configured, etc, I don’t know. The LLM takes care of all that now. I’m starting to feel like a CEO clueless about the underlying implementation details. Instead I’m focus on the goals and doing whatever I can to enable the LLM to achieve those

Two things I’m working on right now for HanziCraft: 1) optimizing the pricing/freemium/trial strategy. 2) organic marketing! Almost all the revenue growth from the past two months has come from 1. Basically optimizing the bottom of the funnel. Total traffic growth has been steady, but could use some growth. So that’s why I’m adding some more organic marketing in the mix to grow the top of the funnel.

I fully migrated HanziCraft from Heroku to a Hetzner VPS (thanks to @levelsio for the idea). Heroku Dynos were basically buckling under the bot traffic, so it never really got anywhere. Now, the VPS can handle the traffic, which revealed the extent of it. Should've realized something was fishy earlier when @SimpleAnalytic and GA didn't align with the increased traffic. Trying to block the traffic now via @Cloudflare, but proving to be tricky. Will keep monitoring, and possibly just abandon Google Analytics for now. Simple Analytics gives me enough info.

And here I thought HanziCraft was going viral in Singapore. Meanwhile it was just bot/scraper traffic being picked up by Google Analytics. 🫠
