Ethereum researchers are now proposing a UTXO model for payments, cutting state storage by up to 99.8%. Cardano has built on this exact idea for ten years. No credit given. Funny how that works. #Cardano

English

@UtxoSaint I believe the Cardano method is better. But the focus on adoption is overdue
English

#Ethereum’s approach 👇
👉 Move fast and break things first (adoption)
👉 Then implement UTXOs (Local state)
#Cardano’s approach 👇
👉 Implement UTXOs (Local state) first
👉 Then try for adoption
Not sure which approach will win in the end. Charles’ initial idea behind #Cardano’s slow methodical approach was that if you onboard people and break their trust then they will never come back. So far Ethereum continues to prove that it may not be the case. People who have onboarded to ETH are sticky and refuse to leave while Ethereum starts rewriting everything under the hood in the name of diffrent things.
English

@angrycryptoshow We need to stop villifying Ethereum for taking after and copying Cardano, and holding it like a badge of honor. It's a reminder AGAIN and AGAIN that technology alone is not enough. We NEED marketing and outreach to drive adoption
English

@ZacksJerryRig Or alternatively, China (or rather people with stakes in both SpaceX and China) waited for SpaceX to IPO, dump on the initial, advertise the rocket recapture of their own to pull down SpaceX some more, and sweep the lows back in
English

@OperatorPuski @ElonogyX BYD's Flash Charging technology should do the trick 😂
English

@ElonogyX Sounds all wonderful and Rosie. For $300k where would you like me to plug it in every night? I don't see a single truck stop in or around Omaha, NE that has this capability

Elon explains why the Tesla Semi is so much more energy efficient than any diesel truck:
“I’d certainly encourage people to look at our semi truck presentation
Because one of the things we emphasize with an electric semi truck is that it’s, it’s much more energy efficient than a diesel truck.
You get things like regenerative braking. So like, let’s say you’re going over a mountain range
In diesel truck, you have to actually spend a lot of money on expensive brakes going down the other side so you don’t run out of control, whereas an electric semi truck, is able to recapture the gravitational potential energy, and, when it goes down the other side, it does not overheat the brakes and in fact puts the energy back in the pack.
So, things like that are incredibly helpful for energy efficiency."

@RaschkeVon11100 @UtxoSaint I agree with you mostly but Yoroi / SF is a wallet developed by one of the founding entities of Cardano. That's not just "any wallet."
English

@UtxoSaint Of course it's bad optics. But how do you propose to stop people from building on top of chains, regardless of which ecosystem? Or people, from using them. This should not be held against Cardano, as a chain, just as I don't hold a Bitcoin wallet hack against Bitcoin.
English

Does #Cardano still hold the “most secure chain” tag? May be buy how many of Solana and ETH hacks were the core chain hacks? It’s always some dapp or wallet or some other piece of shit 💩 software built on top of those chains that got hacked. And we made fun of them every single time. I will never make fun of Solana or ETH ever again because they are at least faster to market than us.
We can keep beating the “most secure chain” drum but tell that to the ones that lost their $ADA on a shitty wallet on #Cardano thinking that we are the most secure chain out there.
This will haunt #Cardano for a long time. Very bad optics overall..

@CashAnvil This will be one hell of a story to tell no matter how it turns out but I'm biased to believe it'll end positively

Took the weekend to think about the path forward and the team and I have come to a simple conclusion:
We aren't ready to give up on Cardano.
My post went viral and I had people from all chains and walks of life reaching out. My DMs were crazy. Most very positive. Some of it, madly inspiring.
The main take away though was that people still believe in us, and Cardano.
Huge thank you to everyone who reached out. We had multiple parties volunteer to front the 100k ADA for the direct treasury proposal.
This is the Cardano I invested my life into. The Cardano of old, where people had each others backs and we were unified. I felt that again this weekend.
This community is undeniable. Let's lock in our direction and find something we can all get excited about again.
I ain't hear no bell 😤 Updated proposal dropping Soon™

@CashAnvil It's sad that sincere builders like you are getting burned out so badly, esp bc I am learning to build on Cardano too. I believe it has the best tech and infrastructure in the industry but something drastic needs to be done to drive adoption and liquidity

I put my entire life into Cardano. My time, my expertise, my savings. I’ve literally gone all in, and for over 5 years now.
No salary for 3 years, along with my co founder, and every payroll was paid on time. This isn’t meant as a guilt trip just context towards my reality.
I forced my cofounders to envelope the ‘entrepreneur mindset’ and make sacrifices to make our vision of Anvil work.
I thought we were in good company in Cardano. A bunch of scrappy, smart people who are building the future financial rails of the world. Unfortunately, not everyone was living like starving entrepreneurs and looted our community/treasury while keeping cushy salaries. Now the price is in the teens…and we can’t even get contracts on Cardano to sustain our business, with no indication that change is coming, all community business proposals are not passing atm.
I gave up my 30s for this. I had a great career trajectory making solid money. I don’t regret the decision I just wish it went different. Believe it or not, we didn’t make many stupid decisions, we were responsible with salaries, and ran very lean operations. Did we fail? Or did Cardano fail to flourish and create real opportunity?
I bought Ada, I believed in the token. I dropped my 401k on it. Held it religiously for 5 years, all to sell at .16 so I don’t lose my house? It’s insane lol was I supposed to sell on everyone’s heads? I thought being a believer was the whole point now I just feel like a sheep. I don’t even have the 100k Ada required anymore to go straight to the treasury. The only thing I can think of that hurt worse were my kidney stones. This is the most defeated I have felt in a long time.
And now I’m watching 8 months of hard work and relationship building get thrown away. Can’t get a hold of half the DReps otherwise you come off as annoying. Didn’t do a Japan tour? Good luck!
I had to waste 6 days explaining to one of our top DReps why the product needs Cardano. He basically said we didn’t need to use blockchain or cardano. Instead of explaining the value we create I gotta convince our top DReps why a project chose to build on Cardano? 🤯
Im not perfect but I damn sure tried to be! Answered everyone promptly, reached out to DReps, and did our best to listen/apply feedback. I show up everyday.
Can someone explain to me why I should keep trying to build here? I’ve legit lost everything but my wife who isn’t getting any happier with me.
Today is the first day I work towards getting my life back. IDK exactly what that means but I’m done feeling like this for nothing.

I know there has been a lot of speculation about whether Charles Hoskinson sold a significant amount of ADA during the 2021 bull market.
One data point that stands out: in September 2021, immediately after ADA's run to all-time highs, Hoskinson announced a $20 million donation to Carnegie Mellon University to create the Hoskinson Center for Formal Mathematics.
That's not proof of anything by itself. But it is exactly the type of event you would expect to see after a major liquidity event.
Large charitable donations are frequently made after appreciated assets are sold because they can generate substantial tax deductions while also funding long-term philanthropic projects.
Again, not evidence of wrongdoing. Just another data point that seems consistent with the idea that significant wealth was realized during the 2021 cycle.

English

I can't believe I'm writing this.
I always suspected Cardano may be a scam, but I did not realize it was this big.
Charles sold over 1.5 billion ADA tokens between $1 and $3 in the 2021 run. Then also paid $200M in ADA to Gavin.
He literally dumped billions on his community. He may have dumped more billions still since. Crazy.
Check the last post in this thread too.

@masatoalexander @IOHK_Charles @gavofyork You understand the irony of investigating someone you insinuate to be defrauding ADA holders by using the very product that wouldn't exist if your implication held any truth? It's not like he abandoned Cardano afterward. Do you expect every crypto founder to never take profit?
English

A May '25 tweet claims @IOHK_Charles sold ~1.5B ADA in the '21 hype cycle, plus 10x 20M payments to @gavofyork.
Rather than take its word, i wanted to check the chain.
Tracing funds is hard, but those x10 20M payments are a solid place to start:

@ZachHumphries We JUST turned on governance. Real decentralization is messy. It needs time. There's definitely real risk that ADA never finds sufficient unity or adoption (this is the biggest risk in my opinion), but when it does, it'll be unstoppable. Cardano is cookING.
English

@BrianKSouthard @bigpey Being critical means turncoat? Do you actually care about decentralization and autonomy or are you just a parrot?
English

@CheekyCrypto @IOHK_Charles Turning off governance is antithetical to Cardano though. If we want @IOHK_Charles in charge, then the community should introduce a mechanism that everyone votes on and accepts that allows him to do so accountably, not just say screw democratized governance.
English

Am I the only one that would actually prefer @IOHK_Charles actually turned off community governance and have control of the treasury?
I actually think Cardano would be in a better place!
Anyone on the same page?
English

@IOHK_Charles I don't understand how you have so many haters, but here's a reminder that you have just as many if not far far more supporters too!
