I disagree with much of what he says elsewhere, but his answer here is piercing and applies with equal force to the present day: “In a period in which... mass murder and mass suffering are absolutely universal, the chance of a new world being born in great suffering would still have been worth backing...” He later adds: “We did not believe in radiant tomorrows. We believed in a world rather than no world.”

Nadie con una mínima formación comunista se opone a adaptar las formas de agitprop (agitación y propaganda) a las condiciones materiales concretas de hoy. Sin embargo, lo que tú y los ejemplos que aplaudes proponéis es algo muy distinto y mucho más destructivo: no adaptáis la forma, sino que vaciáis el contenido y redirigís su objetivo. Proponéis despojar la agitación y propaganda de su esencia revolucionaria y redirigirlas al consumo inmediato y espontáneo. Escudarse en la crítica al "teoricismo" o lloriquear por el supuesto "dogmatismo" es más viejo que la catapulta y forma parte del típico manual del renegado izquierdista que no ha realizado una auténtica agitación en los centros de trabajo. Afirmar con ese paternalismo que a los obreros “le entra ideológicamente más un tiktok, una canción y un video que hablen de su situación tangible, que 50 libros” solamente se puede decir desde una torre de marfil desde la cual crees entender la realidad de los trabajadores, pero la realidad es que te sorprendería el interés y la facilidad con la que estos mismos trabajadores asimilan los conceptos más abstractos y teóricamente densos del comunismo. Tus ejemplos demuestran que la propuesta no trata de superar las formas arcaicas de concienciar a las masas trabajadoras, sino de claudicar ante la ideología burguesa. Consiste en rebajar el discurso comunista hasta convertirlo en inofensivo reformismo pop, en activismo de redes sociales o en consignas izquierdistas que no suponen ninguna amenaza real para el capital. Esa "propaganda" no eleva la conciencia de clase de las masas; simplemente las anestesia con un producto estético digerible. Diluir la teoría marxista para hacerla "atractiva" o "accesible" a costa de amputar su carácter de clase no es hacer propaganda comunista, es marketing liberal disfrazado de rojo.
