Suddenly standing alone in the room, I begin by imagining humanity banding together and blue winning in a landslide, and I feel a rush of pride. Red is the genocide button. Blue is the “save humanity from this nightmare” button. I know what kind of person I am. As my hand hovers over the blue button, I can’t help but imagine a gun pointing at my head with a bullet in one of the chambers. I feel a surge of fear shoot through my body. Then I think about all the other people staring at the blue button and thinking the same thing. Surely some of those who initially decided to press blue will succumb to the fear. It starts to feel like a gun with two loaded chambers. A stronger pulse of terror. The more I think about it, the more I worry about other people thinking about it. My heart races. Then I look at the red button—a gun with no bullets in it. A glorious feeling of relief washes over me. Will I hate myself forever if blue wins because enough others were better and braver than me? But don’t I owe it to my family to protect myself? One vote won’t change anything anyway, right? It’s all irrelevant because the mammal I live in has already made up its mind. I wince and press red.
Tim Urban@waitbutwhy

Everyone in the world has to take a private vote by pressing a red or blue button. If more than 50% of people press the blue button, everyone survives. If less than 50% of people press the blue button, only people who pressed the red button survive. Which button would you press?

"Software will become a commodity, like electricity, and run directly on the LLM layer" Some called me crazy when I made this prediction. I went out on a limb and said that within the next 6m we'd start seeing movement in this direction. Here it is:

🇬🇧 Chris | The £100k Journey
Just saw this on Reddit and it’s genuinely crazy how people make so much money on these kinds of investments. 🤯 This guy hit £1M in his tax-free ISA by age 27 with a mind-blowing 2,572% return just by going all-in on "energy infrastructure" and mining stocks like Hut 8 and IREN. How do people even think of finding and investing so heavily in these niche companies before they completely blow up? Do you have any under-the-radar companies like this that you’re interested in right now? If so, what are they? 👇📈

Kraken Security Update We are currently being extorted by a criminal group threatening to release videos of our internal systems with client data shown if we do not comply with their demands. It’s important to start with the most important points: our systems were never breached; funds were never at risk; we will not pay these criminals; we will not ever negotiate with bad actors. Kraken identified and shut down two instances of inappropriate access to limited client support data. In February 2025, we received a tip from a trusted source regarding a video shared on a criminal forum that appeared to show access to our client support systems. We immediately launched an investigation and quickly identified the individual involved as a member of our support team. Their access was revoked immediately, a full investigation was conducted, additional security controls were put in place and a limited number of affected clients were notified. Since then, we have been collaborating with industry partners and law enforcement to investigate and disrupt insider recruitment efforts targeting not only crypto companies, but also gaming and telecommunications organizations. More recently, we received another tip, along with a new video showing similar activity. We quickly identified the individual involved and terminated their access. As before, we acted immediately to revoke access, conduct a full investigation, and notify the small number of affected clients. Across both incidents, only a very small number of client accounts were potentially viewed - approximately 2,000 in total (0.02% of clients). Shortly after access was terminated, we began receiving extortion demands. The criminals threatened to distribute materials from both the February 2025 incident and the recent incident to media outlets and on social media if we did not comply. We will not pay these criminals. Based on intelligence gathered across both incidents, along with extensive ongoing analysis, we believe there is sufficient evidence to support the identification and arrest of those responsible. We are actively working with federal law enforcement across multiple jurisdictions to pursue all individuals involved and bring them to justice. Due to the ongoing investigation, we cannot share additional details at this time. However, anyone with relevant information is encouraged to contact us directly. The security of our clients is our highest priority, and we remain fully committed to combating the growing global threat of insider recruitment and constantly enhancing our security practices to combat new threats. Note: If you are a client potentially affected by this, you've already been notified.

We agree. Thank you @SecScottBessent for saying it. It's time to pass the Clarity Act. Grateful for all the bipartisan work among Senators and staff over the past several months to make this a strong bill.

Congress has spent the better part of half a decade trying to pass a framework to onshore the future of finance. It is time for @BankingGOP to hold a markup and send the CLARITY Act to President Trump’s desk. Senate time is precious, and now is the time to act.

I just realized that, for the first time ever, progress on both HVM and Bend is bottlenecked not anymore on time, and not on my own knowledge, but on money. I could, right now, be throwing thousands of agents on the repos, with well crafted prompts, and progress would accelerate 10-fold overnight. I know "my agent is outputting 100k lines of code" is a silly meme, but it does apply here. Bend is now equipped with everything it needs to convert agent time into real progress, at any scale. This weekend I validated that, leaving agents working on the standard libraries overnight, and I woke up to thousands of lines of well written, tested, verified code that just worked. One of the agents even started implementing a 3D rendering library in Bend, and it got incredibly far! So, if I can trade money for having ThreeJS in Bend's ecosystem overnight, I think it is not a stretch to say we could port nearly anything to its libraries very quickly. Now, of course, our budget is limited; currently, this is all running mostly with a few agents under a single personal Codex/Claude subscription. But what is preventing me from just throwing, say, 10k on it, and checking what they create, and how far the go? Nothing, and I think this is the next step. It is worth noting that progress here isn't in the "solving new problems" sense; they are not creating anything "new"; they are just implementing existing things in a new language. But that's exactly the "Bend ecosystem is small" problem I'm trying to solve right now! Seems like AI was made for this
