@Demon_Realms my classic move is: snag on the bottom. lose my rig. add tippet bc leaders short now. tie on another hopper. drop a nymph on it. dab of floatant for the dry. carefully clip and dispose of the tags. oh yeah ready 2 fish bb. first backcast snag it all on a branch 20 feet up a tree

@inpredict the fight here is over “recreational” and “good” which are inexact terms, but good almost always means a little better than average. 60-75th percentile. at 35yo sub 20 is either high 90s percentile i.e. “exceptional” or not “recreational” i.e. significant training history
English

sub 20 on a 5k considered “recreational”

Rad Dog@The_Rad_Dawg
@DavidDack keyword here is recreational (not a track/xc person) but even still, it largely depends on age and gender. for male under 35, i would say anything under 20 minutes for a recreational runner is "good". 18:45 is 6:00/mile pace, as a benchmark

@no_sophist man these guys used to scare the shit out of me in Maine. I’d be hiking and theyd wait until i was right by them to blast off making this sound
English

for most of my life I didn't know what this sound in the woods was. thought it must be an engine of kind but that didn't feel right.
