There are ~10,000 injuries in the US each DAY from gasoline fires in "regular" cars/trucks. So often It's not covered!

There are a several problems retrofitting a Lithium into a system designed for lead-acid. The biggest is when the BMS disconnects the Lithium at full charge, you lose the bus stabilization effects of the lead-acid system.

@doakills @markusdd5 @greentheonly @DBurkland @on_tesla @teslascope @zzgzzpop @JakubKudlacz @MehNitesh2 @SawyerMerritt @wholemars To use the Tesla lithium in an older car, you'd need a new VCFRONT, add a VCBATT, and the entire wiring harness in the front of the car. If Tesla wanted to, they could make a kit with a new ECU, but it would be cheaper/easier to just make a bespoke 12v (15v) lithium pack.

I'm not saying it's required to retrofit but I wonder if the new lithium setup requires the newer modules.
