@MarkoMatvikov Why am I not surprised?? They continueto lecture us about everything in our lives blah blah blah and yet when the people seek answers for genuine and legitimate concerns involving OUR money, it’s the same old BS and hypocrisy. They have to go, as soon as possible.

@JacintaAllanMP What a bunch of tossers! “Make life better”?!! Massive taxes and debt, not to mention the billions of working people’s tax dollars scammed away to the CFMEU, your words are meaningless and just utter garbage.

Today I've announced a new Cabinet – a strong, united Labor team focused on what matters most: making life easier, safer and more affordable. Because Labor governments exist for one reason: to make life better for working people. That's what drives every decision we make. And right now, the biggest pressure on working people is the cost of living. It's the pressure Victorians feel every day – at the checkout, at the bowser, around the kitchen table. Pressure on family budgets and family time. So that's where this team is focused. For the first time, Victoria will have a Minister for Cost of Living - Paul Edbrooke – who will continue the important work of delivering real relief where it matters most. And we welcome our new Ministers – Michaela Settle, Luba Grigorovitch and Paul Hamer – who will fight every day for Victorian families. We're ready for the work ahead.

@Mon4Kooyong "Parliamentary Friends of Electric Vehicles"????? WTF is this shite? Serious question? Are our taxpayer dollars funding this?? Oh, and how much will the global temperature fall by if we get to this magical "transport electrification" utopia that is being rammed down our throats?

Transport Minister Catherine King says the government wants to "encourage as much electric vehicle uptake" as possible, and acknowledges the government should enable our EV surge to continue. Great! Accelerating transport electrification is something I have been pushing for, as Co-Chair of the Parliamentary Friends of Electric Vehicles, over the last three years abc.net.au/news/2026-04-1…

Guys is this true? I really cannot believe 32% of men would vote Labor?! Labor told you for years you have “toxic masculinity” and even pay millions for a department and Secretary for Men’s Behaviour Change (how shocking is that) knowing full well that shamefully ***seven men a day commit suicide in Australia*** 💔 Labor insinuated you’re all domestic abusers and gave $30 million in health funding to mens health compared with $1 billion for women. Why are any of you still voting Labor after that?

It was Labor that ended the White Australia Policy. On this day in 1973, Gough Whitlam’s Migration Act came into force – ending the White Australia Policy. This led Australia to become the proud multicultural nation we are today. Labor has a proud tradition of embracing Australian multiculturalism, and I am proud that so many cultural traditions call Perth home.

The arts sector in Australia is in crisis, and the federal government thinks encouraging more philanthropy is the answer. But donations from the rich won't fill the gap left by chronic government underfunding. @Skyelark0 #auspol

@MarkoMatvikov People are fed up (including myself) with the 2 “major” parties - neither offer any sensible alternatives. They are focussed on themselves, not the country. I wouldn’t say I’m a ON supporter, but I can’t stand either “major”, esp here in Victoria where we desperately need change.

The story here isn’t what One Nation is doing right - they’ve been around for almost 3 decades. The story is what are the others doing wrong for voters to turn to a party that’s never been in power?

@DavidShoebridge This is a disgraceful & appalling comment from a political figure, you should be ashamed, I know you won’t be, but you should be. A foul & vile display of your true character. Did you say the same about the terrorist who murdered 15 people at Bondi? Or any other alleged criminal?

@MarkoMatvikov I suspect that it’d be a yes to the first question, yes to the second and no to the third and that’s the key issue here. I still cannot fathom how such incompetence and arrogance is present in the “backrooms” of the party.

@KosSamaras We can’t do anything about Trump, we can’t vote for or against him like any other foreign leader/gov. Our govmts here have let us down badly by caving into net zero BS. Trump is looking after the USA, our “leaders” should do same for Aust, like reduce immigration nos for example.

Our RedBridge Accent polling on petrol prices tells you everything you need to know about the Trump political risk in Australia. 61% of all voters blame Trump for rising fuel costs. Only 14% blame Albanese. Now add a 100% tariff on Australian pharmaceuticals. hitting our drugmakers harder than almost anyone else on the planet. This is the environment any Australian politician or commentator has to navigate when they’re seen nodding along to MAGA world. An environment where an old ally has created a fuel crisis so significant that people cannot afford to drive to work and one that now treats Australian companies worse than Russia. The One Nation number is the most revealing. Even 39% of One Nation voters blame Trump for petrol prices. These are voters who are culturally sympathetic to the populist right. And still, nearly four in ten point the finger at Washington. Any conservative figure who spent the last year cosying up to Trump’s orbit now has to explain why Australian medicines are being hit at the maximum possible rate while other countries got carve-outs. These conservative figures may have thought that with Trump, they had scored a culture war win. Instead, a cost-of-living liability and a sovereign risk just walked through their front door.

BREAKING: We've secured a deal that will deliver an extra 6c a litre of petrol price relief for Australians, to add to the 26c we delivered earlier this week. Today the states and territories have agreed to provide another $400M of fuel relief, through an additional cut to the fuel excise for three months, saving you an extra 6c per litre. This is on top of halving the fuel excise, bringing our total relief to 32c per litre every time you fill up.

@angijones 100% - not only wouldn’t it be tolerated, there would likely be charges laid, and penalties imposed by organisations like Worksafe then the courts. This is appalling and at the very least the Federal party must step in and stop this now.
