This girl is cruising down the highway in her stick shift, windows down, wind in her hair, belting out songs while she shifts gears without missing a beat. She looks genuinely happy and in control.
Most people these days never learn how to drive manual. It takes real timing and coordination to get the clutch and gas right, especially when you’re just trying to have fun and sing along. Seeing her do it so naturally makes you realize how much of that skill is disappearing.
Do you think driving stick is becoming a lost art, or do you still think it’s worth teaching people even if almost every new car is automatic?

@CyttorakChosen We knew it was a one shot, but Robbie wrote it so we could keep going, if something were to change! Thanks for the compliments!!! It was a dream gig!
English

@inkpulp I wish I could ask Robbie Thompson if the ending was supposed to set up something for Juggernaut. The writing was impecable in this and wish the end actually mattered in the long term for Juggernaut's character but seems like Marvel dropped that plot point.
English

Also rereading X-Men Black: Juggernaut I really have to praise @inkpulp rendition of him. I always believed the best Juggernaut designs are the most simple ones and I LOVE his design in this book.
Would love to see him tackle Juggernaut again one day.

@hobo613 Oh I’m very aware of that. I wish the art community understood its power in comics.
English

@inkpulp it's simply due to the fact that it's often most singularly a written on a run, so the publishers focus on selling "arcs" for the collected.
they fear the artists going through another "Image" revolution and taking the power back; which for them is bad
English

Do you think it’s ok to credit the writer only on the cover, even when a few artists (not one) drew the books? Is the role of the artist being diminished here?

@JeremyPeerboom Lol. Thanks!!! I’ve always worked out, just been working out harder lately
English

@inkpulp Also, it’s been a few years since I followed you, when did you get so jacked?!? 😬

English

@JeremyPeerboom that’s my point, the publishers build a lot of value in the writer, while the artist gets devalued. It breeds a misunderstanding of the work, within the the audience. many people think the writer is telling the artist what to draw and we just draw what we are told.
English

@inkpulp End of the day though, if it’s a book with other artists and it sells well because of a writer, I’d be happy to receive a royalty check as long as it clears.

@pwatcherallday Director, yes… not screenwriter. Film, like comics is a visual storytelling medium.
English

@inkpulp A film poster will say "film by Director's name" even though there are a whole bunch of people working on it
English

@ComicBookCorps_ I understand that it’s convenient, i do. But this is about what’s right. No need to apologize, we can have a nice discussion about this stuff.
English

@comics_jeff Ram V didn’t draw the book, comics are a visually storytelling medium. You can’t just say it’s the writers work… not in comics. Never.
English

I think it has to do with the intention of the collection. The focus is on Ram V's work with Batman
There are collections focused on the artists' work too

English

@inkpulp @hellomuller Yeah I’d be insulted if I’d been an artist in this and the comps showed up with that dress. They could have, and should have, found a way to credit artists on the cover
It doesn’t even say “written by Ram V.” It just says “by Ram V.” And that’s nothing at all against him
English

@inkpulp No offense to Ram, but yeah, that's totally diminishing the artists. At least put them down below.
English

@ComicBookCorps_ Again, that’s the publishers scheduling problem. And the solution is to devalue the artist? Honestly, artists should probably all go write and draw their own stuff and then we can see how well the publishers do. We are not pawns on a chess board.
English

@inkpulp The problem is that there are too many rotating artists these days and it just becomes so much more convenient and sensible to refer to it with the one consistent contributor. DC at least still advertises artists as equal contributors on runs where they actually are.

English

It shouldn’t have to be said, but yeah, if a company sees value in selling a book with cover artwork and not just text, then credit the artist(s) of the interior as well. Multiple artists don’t downgrade or deserve less credit either, ‘less famous’ artists are building a rep too.
