ABC Vancouver’s by-election campaign will install campaign signs at homes (of past/current supporters)… without residents’ expressed permission. Residents have to proactively “opt-out” if they don’t want a sign. Unconventional approach, maybe against the rules? 🤷🏾‍♂️ #vanpoli

Turns out Freedom Convoy folks don’t understand the meaning of the word “freedom.” What a bunch of hypocrites. I got 645 replies when I asked why the same group who shut down our nation’s capital to fight for medical autonomy is now in favour of forced treatment for drug users. Not a single one could provide a cogent argument to explain how they’re different, so most resorted to insults. My favourite was the dude who said I would understand if I’d ever seen an addict in person. 🤣😂🤣 One quick note: I was NEVER in favour of rounding up the unvaccinated and throwing them in jail, or into restraints to get vaccinated, like you’re advocating for drug users (GOOD WE NEVER DID THOSE THINGS) So to respond to y’all: 👉 No, it’s not apples to oranges (or bananas to potatoes or whatever dumb AF comparison you want to use). 👉 The argument: “one was about injecting junk/poison and one is about stopping people from injecting junk/poison” FAILS. By that logic, you believe the government can also force you to stop drinking beer & eating McDonalds. Is that freedom? 👉 some of you said drug users “broke a social contract” so must be dealt with. Many of us thought people who refused vaccine during a pandemic also broke a social contract, but we didn’t throw you in jail. 👉 some of you said it’s about helping people who are harming themselves. Again, same argument for vaccines, and you HARM OTHERS as well as yourselves (measles are surging in North America thanks to you, BTW). But you STILL don’t get physically forced to take vaccines, because it’s a violation of your human rights. EITHER YOU GET TO MAKE CHOICES ABOUT YOUR BODY OR THE GOVERNMENT DOES. Which is it, “Freedom” Convoy? #cdnpoli #bcpoli
