Trump is forcing you to pay hundreds of millions of dollars to keep five coal plants open past their scheduled closures under “emergency” orders.
Just one of these plants has already cost ratepayers $180 million, and for the last year, you’ve been paying for a coal plant that hasn’t even burned any coal.
Another one of those plants requested that Trump’s order be allowed to expire so that it could finally close.
This is your money. Your utility bills are climbing, and this money should be going toward actually lowering your energy costs. Instead, Trump is using it to keep your energy bills high.
