The South African Police Service (SAPS) Gauteng Provincial Firearm, Liquor and Second-Hand Goods (FLASH) unit, in collaboration with SAPS Tsakane, carried out a targeted liquor compliance operation in the Tsakane policing precinct on 23 April 2026. The operation formed part of ongoing efforts to clamp down on illegal liquor trading and enforce adherence to the Gauteng Liquor Act, 2003 (Act No. 2 of 2003), particularly Section 127(a), which prohibits the sale of liquor without a valid licence or permit. During the operation, several liquor outlets were inspected to assess compliance. Authorities identified two establishments that were operating in contravention of the law. Preliminary findings suggest that both non-compliant outlets are linked to the same owner. Documentation presented by the operators at the time has since been submitted for verification as part of a broader investigation process. SAPS indicated that these operations are part of a sustained strategy to ensure that liquor traders operate within the legal framework. Illegal liquor trading remains a serious concern, as it is often associated with other forms of criminal activity. Police have reiterated their commitment to conducting regular compliance inspections and taking action against those who fail to meet regulatory requirements. @SAPoliceService

Wh*te people act like Apartheid was a small misunderstanding and that people of colour are holding onto the past grudgingly. Systematically excluding people of colour based on race and taking physical measures to oppress them left a legacy of present day poverty and instability.
