these kinds of single family homes have been popping up all over chicago, nearly universally being constructed after landowners tear down an older building with 2-4 units of housing. this makes the population go down and rents skyrocket. they’re not a good model for urbanism

I propose we redefine “transplant”: not someone who moved here, but someone who treats NYC as a pit stop before fleeing to the suburbs. If you’d rather sweat on the subway into your 80s than raise kids in Nassau County, you’re a New Yorker. I don’t care where you were born.

I frankly find “transplant” groveling so pathetic. I will never forget that guy who said that he would never call NYC his home or something bc he wasn’t born here and that’s disrespectful to the natives…despite living here for several years. Stand the fuck up lol.
