Lea Michele was sensational in Funny Girl, but was objectively not strong enough in Chess to be nominated today. She sang beautifully, but there is more to a nomination than singing well.

i love that everything that is being talked about the tony awards is the lea michele snub! not nominating her is literally the biggest snub in recent broadway history and this is what people will remember when they talk about this tony edition in years… lea michele was robbed

Lea Michele has given her all to this musical over the past year, always showing pride in Broadway and where she comes from, and this award doesn't even recognize her talent. May this award show be a failure; it will never have my viewership again.

truth be told: chess is a shitty musical with a great cast. lea michele not being nominated for a Tony for the role of Florence is just one peak of the fiasco that was michael mayer’s direction, which could have delivered a great show but instead got stuck in mediocrity
