@polymathical_ It pays to understand the nuances of being autistic… I just got on Twitter and saw your tweet on my screen. I read it twice and the detail clicked immediately. “… don’t want to suppress…” Guess what that would do? Masking. Masking is very toxic to autistic people.

I don't want to suppress how I feel and hold back being vulnerable simply because other people aren't good at responding, caring, or acting. I want to be the kind of person that lives up to my values and principles regardless. That is who I am choosing to be. 1/2

@DrMBotha I’ve alway wondered why idioms have always caused such a stand-off. You’d like to think we’d share more of a consciousness of kind given that we all have some seat under the “neurodivergent” umbrella. Although I hear many argue their place there too.

It's always funny watching researchers RAGE and SEETH when autistic people and people with ADHD or other neurodivergence come up with language to describe their own experiences. Hermeneutic justice from collective experiences genuinely upsets them. They rage against shared terms

Missy passed away peacefully at home. She was wrapped in her favorite fur blanket while I sang lullabies to her (her favorite). My heart is forever broken. She was one of a kind and I love her with every fiber of my being.

To the bullies still talking about me every day. I did this dbt workbook. It wasn’t helpful for me. However I can understand parts of it are useful but They are skills people used before dbt. Interpersonal part is removed for autistic people. It causes shame in autistics

Idk if you remember me having a different account but I did, and I had almost 10K followers which dropped down to 6K and kept dropping…all thanks to people who hurt me too. I am not immune.

We skipped DBT skills training today and discussed death, purpose, meaning, suffering, and absurdity. We talked about how skills, while life-saving, are also surface-level. We talked about why we choose to keep going, even when “life is one giant Seinfeld episode.” And we agreed among all of us: if we’re going to be in a life with pain in it, at least we get to be in rooms with people who are trying to love more. Homework: love more this week. 🫶
