There are two SEC teams who got 9.5 win totals. Last year, there was double that number. Think it’s Vegas acknowledging the increase in schedule difficulty moving to 9 SEC games. A&M went 11-2 with both losses being 10 or less, return their QB, attempted to bolster their OL in the portal, etc. and they’re currently at 8.5 as well. LSU is SWINGING for the fences in Year 1 under Kiffin, spending TONS of money in the portal and got 8.5 too. Texas returns its QB, spent MASSIVE in the portal, etc. They’re trying to *buy* a championship. Vegas still has them at just 9.5. Kirby Smart and Georgia are sitting at 9.5 too. Once again, only two SEC teams got that number. Alabama is currently tied for the third-best win total in the conference. Vegas isn’t about disrespect; they’re about trying to be right. I think 8.5 is an easy over. 9-3 feels like a realistic record right now — until we see how some of the new pieces are coming along. I get the number looks shocking on paper, but if the SEC wasn’t moving to a 9-game schedule, I wouldn’t have been shocked if it had been 9.5. And it still could be. Want to say the number moved last year from early spring into summer (could be wrong on that though). If they choose to use this as motivation, I’m all for it. Just saying that number did not shock me in the slightest. In fact, we predicted it. But I’m *absolutely* taking the over there.

Perhaps encouraging for Alabama: The SEC is 5-0 SU and 4-1 ATS in the NCAA Tournament thus far. Saint Louis-Georgia still pending tonight. Teams Bama played in the regular season are 5-1 SU in the tourney.

Childress, held to 12 points, fouled out with 3:18 remaining and could only watch from the bench as the Tide completed the shocker. In the Alabama locker room afterward, a sign summed it up perfectly: “They weren’t overrated. The NCAA has made slight changes to the punishment for targeting. This fall, a player disqualified for targeting for the FIRST time during the season, regardless of which half of the game it occurs, may participate in the next game. Any player disqualified for targeting a SECOND time during the season will be required to miss the first half of the next game. If a player is disqualified for a THIRD targeting penalty during the season, the player will be required to miss the entire next game (no players were disqualified for targeting three times in the 2025 season).
