$SPY Pysch To Find Unusual Options Trades 3-Minute Guide and Video: Finding unusual trades requires an unconventional mindset. Trading is psychological, and spotting anomalies means thinking outside the box and setting filters for out-of-the-ordinary trades. For example, imagine someone betting $500,00 on a horse that hasn't won in 10 races. Similarly, in trading, I look for anomalies (Perhaps large investments) in options flow. Take the example in this video , my settings adjustment generated unusual flow and I notice a trader that poured $700,000 into $SHLS $6 strike put option at $0.62 per contract, with no prior activity as large—this is an example of unusual thinking. To set up my Unusual Whales settings, I can adjust the spot price filters. Typically, I set my spot price to no greater than $2, depending on the stock. If the stock usually has expensive premiums, I might set a higher maximum spot price. The spot price indicates the current trading price of the contract. Setting a maximum spot price of about $2 allows me to see significant investments, such as $500,000 at lower spot prices per contract. If I want even cheaper contracts, I set the spot maximum to $1. This filter shows trades below $1 per contract. Additionally, I adjust the premium filter to a minimum of $100,000 or $500,000 to see large orders at low spot prices. Once the Unusual Whales Live Flow generates trades with these characteristics, I pair them with the stock's price action chart. This helps me determine if the flow trade is substantial enough to watch or use as leverage. I also consider the volume, open interest settings, and pair that along with any relevant news about the stock to make informed decisions. Notice anything else I do in this video? There are other settings you can toggle with, I will share more in the future but for now, enjoy the 3 Minute video, Subscribe to @unusual_whales , and explore on your own-let me see your results! This is a learning point. Not Financial Advice
