A 19-year-old Indian MBBS student, Nida Khan from Rajasthan’s Jhalawar, was found dead under suspicious circumstances in her Dhaka hostel, Bangladesh. Upon talking with FMGs there they allege she faced repeated academic harassment, including unfair vivas and public humiliation by teachers. On September 27, after being verbally abused in front of classmates, Nida locked herself in her hostel room. Later that night, she was found partially hanging from a fan. Her tragic death has sparked concerns about the mental health and safety of MBBS students. #WATCH दिल्ली की मुख्यमंत्री रेखा गुप्ता ने कहा, "मैं पिछली पढ़ी लिखी सरकारों की कर्तव्य निष्ठा से हैरान हूं,... आज मौलाना आज़ाद जैसे प्रतिष्ठित कॉलेज और वहां पढ़ने वाले बच्चों की इतनी बुरी स्थिति है। 1966-1990 के बीच में बने 7 छात्रावास बने जिसकी क्षमता केवल 1200 छात्रों के रहने की है और लगभग 3200 छात्र रह रहे हैं... एक कमरे में आठ-आठ बेड है, अलमारी शेयर करनी पड़ती है, स्टडी टेबल कुर्सी जैसी कोई चीज नहीं है, कभी मरम्मत का काम नहीं होता है, कभी कोई सुविधा देने का काम नहीं होता है। ये वास्तव में शर्मनाक है। मुझे चिंता है कि हमारे मेडिकल के छात्र ऐसी विपरीत परिस्थितियों में वहां पर रह रहे हैं...जो बच्चे वहां काम करना चाहते हैं, उनके लिए जो सुविधाएं चाहिए, उनको सरकार तत्काल उपलब्ध कराएगी, और नए हॉस्टल की व्यवस्था भी तुरंत खोजी जाएगी।"

FMGs in UP protested today outside the State Medical Council demanding timely internship allotment.
The council replied for current counseling be completed, followed by a second round in July.
The Registrar assured that all eligible FMGs will be allotted seats.
