MASSIVE EXPOSE….. For decades, Indians have been fed a carefully engineered lie: “That Suraiya Taiyab a MUSLIM WOMAN designed the Indian National Flag.” This lie wasn’t accidental. It was political. The Indian flag was NOT designed in 1947. It was NOT born out of “inclusive committees.” And it was NOT authored by last-minute participants. It was designed conceptually, structurally, ideologically by Pingali Venkayya. Full stop. Venkayya spent years studying global flags, national symbols, and colour theory. He produced multiple designs for India’s future flag decades before Independence. Three horizontal bands. Symbolic colours. A central national emblem. This was not execution. This was original design. So why was Pingali Venkayya erased? Because post-1947 India was not interested in historical truth. It was interested in optics. A new ruling ecosystem needed symbols that wanted to appease MUSLIMS. What better way than retroactively inflating secondary contributors and diluting primary authorship? Suraiya Taiyab’s role was stitching and preparation of the flag during the final phase. That is participation. That is assistance. That is not authorship. But calling her a “designer” served a political purpose: It helped project a carefully curated image of the new state. It helped satisfy ideological narratives. It helped overwrite inconvenient facts. Pingali Venkayya didn’t fit that script. He wasn’t elite. He wasn’t politically connected. He wasn’t useful to the ruling narrative. So he was discarded. No recognition. No pension. No national honour. He died in poverty while history was being cosmetically rewritten. This is about how power launders history. Appeasement doesn’t always look like policy. Sometimes it looks like symbolic credit theft. India’s flag was not “collectively designed.” It was conceived by one man and later adapted by institutions. That man was Pingali Venkayya. If truth threatens your narrative, you erase the truth. That’s exactly what happened here. Correct the record. Stop the myth. Stop the optics. Pingali Venkayya designed the Indian National Flag. Everything else is political packaging.
