The internet constantly tells women that men are terrible listeners because the second a woman starts venting about her day, the man immediately interrupts to offer a logical solution. We are taught to view this as him being dismissive, emotionally unintelligent, or invalidating our feelings.
The strict, unpopular truth is that to a man, fixing the problem is his absolute highest, most desperate form of empathy.
Women vent to connect; we want our partner to just sit in the dark with us and validate the emotion. But men are hardwired to view the woman they love being in distress as an active threat. When he immediately offers a spreadsheet, a strategy, or a solution to your problem, he isn't trying to silence you. His brain has recognized that something in the world is hurting his partner, and his immediate, visceral instinct is to assassinate the thing causing you pain.
We constantly shame men for "not just listening," completely ignoring the fact that his attempt to fix your life is his most profound declaration of love.

Four Charged For Sex Trafficking Children As Young As Eleven Peel Police Vice and Human Trafficking Unit have arrested and charged four individuals following an investigation into the alleged trafficking and sexual exploitation of young girls across the Greater Toronto Area. Police say the investigation began in January 2024 after officers received allegations that several female victims between the ages of 11 and 14 were being trafficked and exploited in the sex trade throughout the GTA. According to investigators, the accused are alleged to have used coercion, manipulation, and threats of physical violence to control and influence the victims. Police further allege the suspects profited financially from the exploitation. Authorities have confirmed that four individuals have been taken into custody and face charges in connection with the investigation. NEW: High school secretary Alicia Hughes caught by husband in bed with a student on Valentine's Day, admits to relationship in newly released footage.
The 31-year-old Indiana mom admitted to the relationship before admitting to another relationship with a different teen.
The husband of Hughes has already filed for divorce.
"This is the third time that I’ve been with him," Hughes said, claiming she did nothing with him before he was 18.
Following her arrest, another 17-year-old boy came forward and said he and the secretary had s*x five times.
Hughes claims she was "physically and mentally" abused by her husband.
She is facing up to six years in prison.
