So small gist guys, after our TGIF drinks, My friend booked an OS the way he booked using one of my WhatsApp contact, he drops what he calls polling unit requests daily. She showed up at 9PM. My Uncle would be laid to rest on Saturday, I was not invited for the burial by his son. Then one of my uncle who apparently is the family head, decided to reach out to me about 4 times in the past months for me to come around towards preparation of the burial. He kept calling that I should return back to Akwa Ibom State, I told him I couldn't possibly leave my work. Unluckily for me, I touched down on Tuesday, on my way home I decided to branch over to the youngest of my uncle's house. This man was so surprised to see me, offered me food which I respectfully declined because I don't eat in people's home. Then arose the question " Hey Victor, are you aware that uncle P would be buried on Saturday?? I bluntly replied "I'm not aware, because I wasn't informed earlier" My uncle advised me to go to the family house and see for myself. I told him, if P's son can disrespect and disregard me not informing me on the burial arrangements, then there's obviously no grounds for me to be there. My Uncle looked up to me with tears in his eyes " You people are spoiling the family with all this unnecessary feud and backlash" That I should remember that when my Dad passed, the said P never neglected him. I just paused and pondered on the word. Okay I will see what I can do about it. Assuring him that I would try to be available for the burial and see what kind of financial assistance I could render. Deep down within me, I knew vividly I was never attending such gathering, because the disregard was enormous. Now everyone is painting me as a bad person. Do you think I took the right decision?
