I agree with you, Derek. There’s an obsession with inbox zero, more meetings, and more calls, yet I find little focus on doing great work. It’s almost like the busier you are, or having zero emails in your inbox is a sign that you’re doing great work, but it doesn’t. Too often, we focus on the wrong things and it comes at the detriment of doing great work.

The goal should be great work. If your goal is average work, and you fail that means you end up with feces work. Now, if your goal is great work, and you fail - you can still land on good or average work, instead of ending up with crap work as your only option.

@Sioned_W @LSRPlaid She’s literally the only candidate of any party to knock on our front door in this election campaign. Plenty of leaflets and posters and letters, but she’s the only one to ring the bell and start a conversation 👌

Zaynub is an inspiration and she’ll be an important voice in the Senedd if elected this week.

@tomfgoodwin 💯 Tom! The same for pitches. Over the years, I’ve lost count of the number of decks I’ve created where I’ve stripped tens of slides out to get to the end product. It’s always surprising how many of the slides I remove end up serving another purpose years down the line!

Few people get that to write a good 30 page deck, you write 400 slides, and delete SOOOOO many And it's great fun. and you learn a lot and you keep slides for other events and you essentially remember it all and can present it well

By the nature of my day job, I see a LOT of adverts. Some good. Some not so good. I also know, as a media planner and buyer, how hard it is to get two sites adjacent to each other to make campaigns like this work, so fair play to @TimesRadio for pulling this off. Very nicely done and great timing with elections going on across the UK, too 👏

@AndyCoys2 @swalesmetroprof @RUKWales Railway infrastructure and legislation on railways are not devolved to Wales. They are reserved. A Welsh Government of any political party wouldn’t have been able to build them. There have been lots of calls to devolve infrastructure to Wales but we don’t yet have it.

. @RUKWales showing how ill-suited they are to form a WG. 20 yrs effort to secure limited UK Gov funding for long needed new stations/services in the most populated part of Wales and they say "not needed"! The level of constitutional spatial & economic ignorance is staggering.

Why should I treat our Senedd parliamentary elections any differently to a General Election? We’re voting this week on who forms the Welsh Government and makes laws specific to Wales as well as being responsible for all devolved issues. I think that’s a pretty big deal for the 3m of us here in Cymru 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

It’s striking that all the news on the elections this week is about process, predictions and polls. I remember when journalists reported on policies.

Yes. And I think that’s where TfW have been trying. Cardiff Bus Interchange is a good example of how you can hop off a train and straight onto a bus and vice versa. It helps make journeys easier and frictionless. I know that’s one example and it’s in Cardiff, but wouldn’t it be great to have that kind of set up across Wales so that we were all much better connected with regular and reliable services at a sensible price? If it all joined up, it could be stunning! 🤩

Just a reminder buses are the workhorses of public transport and have been forgotten about in wales while we focus on trains. The Boys with toys transport policy and all that. Another big problem for whoever is in government next weekend.

The Welsh Government isn’t responsible for immigration, so the boats issue is something for Labour in Westminster. In Wales, under a Welsh Labour government for almost three decades, we have the lowest PISA scores in the UK, we have an NHS that is in desperate need of fixing, a housing shortage and a situation whereby young people can’t get onto the housing ladder to name but a few. I’m not pretending there hasn’t been some good policies and outcomes for the people of Wales, but so much of what really matters feels very much broken, and I want politicians to be serious rather than the silly jibes and taunts on social media like the post I shared 😊

@j_robinson @RhonddaBryant Hey James I haven't heard any journalists criticising Labours policies, housing, boats NHS etc. Because if they did that it would give Labour a chance to show off the policy successess.
