To me, one of the key take-home messages is that any policies that endorse the use of weight as a heuristic for health may be inadvertently perpetuating weight stigma and differential treatment that could be experienced as discriminatory. 9/9

Despite moves in several countries to recognise obesity as a disease, it remains unclear whether this will lead to better quality care for people of a higher weight or reduce weight stigma. There is much more work to be done. 8/9
