@EricCrossMLB Eric- obviously he's playing really well but I found myself worrying about the ground ball rate this winter and it seems that's still a pretty big thing. You obviously are more plugged in than me so I'm curious what your general thoughts are on that? (Could be a non issue ofc)

Ike Irish was a player I was higher on than most for the 2025 draft, and he's off to a nice start this season in High-A. 71 PA .317/.423/.533 4 2B, 3 HR, 7 SB 14.1% BB, 21.1% K Irish is a great value target in dynasty leagues. #Birdland

I see that a lot of people think Trey is in the wrong here but I think this is just a difference in the era he grew up in. Was it a childhood highlight of yours if you mailed a player a card and they returned it signed? Absolutely. But 20 years ago most people were genuine collectors. They were mailing cards to players and asking for autographs for no reason other than they were fans. And the players knew that. “The hobby” was just that, a hobby. Everybody did it for the joy that it brought them. While that’s still true for many collectors this space is now dominated by people who are using it to try and make money. And again, the players know that. I don’t think he’s being a dick here, I just think younger players have grown up in a time where there are too many flippers and not enough collectors so they assume that everyone who asks them for an autograph is trying to make money.

@GoodFundies Polanco, in particular, is one I feel like we all generally talked ourselves into and I personally feel silly about it already. Just can't sign guys that age coming off their first ever all star level year- I'm fine missing out on the ones that work out given the % that do.

@GoodFundies Glad you included the point that we essentially gifted the Orioles two immediately impactful high leverage arms (also making Pennies w control). Swap one out for Weaver and the $ savings more than justifies keeping Nimmo and not making that panic move.

People yelled at me all spring about Carson Benge. He's currently hitting .108/.214/.189. It's not the end of the world to demote him, I just wish the Mets had been smarter about it. He had one hard hit all spring.

@YoitisLeo @GoodFundies I forget if it was Blevins or Zeile but someone who played/has some affiliation to the team now in media said this a few days ago and I am 100% behind it. I’m as doomer as it gets but demoting him after 10 shitty games probably fucks him up more than bad performance

@GoodFundies @YoitisLeo He is almost certainly better off facing elite velo in the majors and struggling to handle it but learning on the job than facing journeymen with a serious tick down in stuff/velo in aaa. Hate seeing him struggle but give it until May 1 then I’d start to worry.

@YoitisLeo "Some great prospects and great players start out slow" is not an argument to keep Benge in the majors when he looks like doo-doo. He doesn't have the pedigree of those other guys.

I’ve gone back and forth on whether to tweet this. The past few months have been struggle in my personal life. I will spare the details because my message is a simple one: check in on your people. Especially the quiet ones. It’s easy to get lost and lonely in a room full of people. You are loved, you are wanted and you are needed. Don’t EVER be afraid to ask for help.
