Why did MegaETH dump when its FA looked perfect? I’ve been following @MegaETH since its mainnet launch in February 2026, and I think this is one of the best Layer-2s in terms of fundamentals: –  real-time Ethereum Layer-2, targeting sub-millisecond latency –  over 100,000 TPS, perfect for on-chain gaming, HFT DeFi, and real-time apps –  TVL shot up to nearly $771.4M in just a few days On top of that, @MegaETH has unique tokenomics: unlocks only when hitting TVL milestones, $USDM supply capped at 500M, decentralized governance… All of this proves MegaETH isn’t a short-term project. That said, $MEGA has disappointed most investors, dumping heavily after TGE with a drop of over 55% from ATH. So why would such a strong L2 face massive sell pressure? –  The main reason: huge sell pressure day one. Public sale was 500M tokens (5% of supply) at $0.0999, while some early investors bought at $0.02. They immediately took profits when listed on 13 major exchanges (#Binance, #Coinbase, #OKX…). Airdrop recipients and Echo/Fluffle holders also sold aggressively – on-chain data shows 40-50% of airdrop wallets sold all or most of their tokens. –  Second, market sentiment. Crypto has been risk-off since October 2025, altcoins weak, investors favoring BTC. MegaETH hype was massive pre-market, FDV hit $6B, expectations were sky-high, and when it didn’t pump further, FUD set in. But this is the opportunity. I still believe in MegaETH long-term. A TVL of $771M proves capital onchain trusts the tech. Its tokenomics are smart – supply only grows with real network growth, creating a flywheel instead of uncontrolled dumps like many other L2s. If @MegaETH stabilizes at 100k TPS, scales USDM, and monetizes proximity market bidding latency as a revenue stream, the current FDV of $1B is cheap. Many L2s dumped 50-70% post-TGE and then 5-10x’ed within 6-12 months once real adoption came. A perfect tokenomics design doesn’t protect the short-term price, but it ensures long-term victory, and I believe in @MegaETH.

what megaeth is experiencing now is a lot similar to what monad experienced post TGE price is crashing, people are losing faith, the chain isn't seeing much usage but there's one key difference here and that is CT sentiment, because unlike monad, most of the big accounts on CT were bullish on megaeth we've seen plenty of tweets building up to the launch, hyping the project, the tech, the apps onchain, the NFTs, etc. but how did that impact the price movement? in my opinion, it did absolutely nothing because CT sentiment does not dictate the price of any project, the market does everybody on CT can be bearish on a project (billions for example) but if the market, aka people with a LOT of money, want to pump the price, that's gonna happen. and this goes the other way around, megaeth being the example here i think the main takeaway here is that CT doesn't really have any influence over how a project performs, just an opinion about that. with that being said, i'm curious to see how the future looks like for megaeth and monad (i'm invested in both)
