.@YouTube @TeamYouTube @YouTubeInsider this is ridiculous. "Limited Ads" for 3 seconds is absolutely punishing when your video's 1 hour or longer. I understand you take precautions to avoid upsetting advertisers, but tell us the issue right away so we can cut it and monetize.

Movie studios, actors, producers, filmmakers, marketing want us to make these videos. If those who made the movie want it, who are you defending?

Give us access to the data your A.I. is finding so we can either edit it out and remonetize or edit it out temporarily until human review. The current system hurts creators when we're going out of our to follow your very strict guidelines.

Our upload sat private ready to go (ads set) for 2 weeks and only got limited ads when made public. We're then forced guess the issue and wait the whole day to find out it's this, then have to wait a week for the second round rebuttal, by which points it's lost all momentum.

Woah YouTube Update.. YouTubers can now upload 50MB thumbnails Before if a Thumbnail was larger than just 2MB you’d get an error and have to compress it lmao Such a small but huge update

My point is, either remove it or make it pvt. till release. They are heavily investing in marketing globally for oct release.

Dear @YouTube, I understand that you're doing your best to please the trifecta: advertisers, audience and creators. But I don't think all three share equal love. You have a responsibility to content creators and who it feels like are often the last you are concerned for. The goal post for what is okay to monetize keeps moving and you rely HEAVILY on A.I. I've first hand felt the negative effects of that many times between false flags for demonetization or "human" creator support that I'm confident with near full certainty is not human. You are causing a great deal of stress for the 33.3% of what keeps YouTube alive. I don't even have a YouTube Partner Manager anymore (for no clear reason) and am forced to deal with A.I. "creator support" bots even more, which borders on ABSOLUTELY useless. Please focus on improving the system to genuinely help full time content creators as that will only serve to make your platform even better and ultimately generate more revenue for you. I get that 500 hours are being uploaded every minute - you have no choice but to rely on machines to keep up with it all. But you already have a system in place to weed out the "just curious" from the very serious content. Please improve the system for the full time very serious creators and be more helpful to us. 9 years in, I still feel like I am balancing on a circus walking globe while someone keeps nudging it unpredictably. This automated system you are implementing is going to hurt a lot of creators and potentially create a bad experience for users who might get inundated with way too many ads. Give our feelings more weight in your decisions please. We are 33.3% of what keeps the machine going.

Just finished a meeting with YouTube about their New Midrolls Update [this will be a long Tweet, please Like/RT] The situation is currently worse than I thought But YouTube wants to work with me to figure it out, so I'll be sending them a bunch of feedback What's Happening: Starting May 12th YouTube will no longer let Creators manually place Ads wherever they want in their videos What’s This Mean: Ads will have to be approved by YouTube as Non-Interruptive Ads Interruptive Ad: This Ad appears for viewers in the middle of a sentence, when something big is happening in a video, etc. Non-Interruptive Ad: An Ad that only shows up during Natural Breaks (like Pauses, Transitions, etc.) Why is YouTube doing this: YouTube believes showing Ads that don't interrupt the viewing experience will increase Views and Revenue Now at first glance, this makes sense... BUT Why this is horrible: Many YouTubers, especially Gaming ones, edit their videos so there's No Deadspace, No Pauses, No moments where the viewer can get bored, etc. There’s entire Niches on YouTube designed to keep the viewer hooked the whole time For these Creators, since there are no Natural Pauses or Transitions, YouTube’s system will mark most Manual Midroll Ads as interruptive Gaming Creators will probably earn way less revenue YouTube’s Solution: They said to let YouTube’s systems automatically determine the best place to put Ads for your video if your Manual ones aren’t being approved But if you’re a YouTuber, you know how bad their Automatic Ads System is It usually places Ads in the most random spots. Sometimes the first Ad being 10+ minutes into the video, which results in WAY less money being made because Viewers don’t get served that Ad And for Gaming Creators, the system might still find ZERO suitable Ad Slots even with the automatic system, which is horrible So I asked YouTube about this scenario: I straight up asked them if people like Gaming Creators will earn less money if YouTube can’t find Non-Interruptive Ad slots in their videos and they basically implied that Yes, these Creators will earn less money… I was even told that if making revenue through Midrolls is important to you Then you should consider changing how you make videos to include things like Natural Breaks, Natural Pauses, etc. I’m normally the biggest advocate of YouTube but I couldn’t believe this when I heard it Many Creators will make less money going forward if this goes through What happens to your old videos? Any videos that you uploaded in the past, WILL be affected YouTube won’t show Interruptive Ads to viewers anymore after May 12th They’ll only show Ads when there are Natural Spaces/Breaks in your video So if you have old videos that bring you passive revenue monthly And YouTube can’t find any suitable ad slots in them.. Those videos will start earning significantly less money. Where we’re at now: - Nothing is changing until May - YouTube wants to work with me to gain feedback - We can fix this before it goes into effect The fact YouTube is willing to listen to Creator Feedback on this means anything is possible It looks really bad right now but I think they’re slowly realizing that DM me if you want me to pass anything to YouTube
