Letting a sport coach choose what happens in the weight room, speed or conditioning shouldn’t happen. But if it does it should be like when you offer a kid a meal. Would you like to do X or Y. Both are options you chose and approved, but just let them feel like they made the choice. Otherwise you will wind up with meals designed by a kid. Remember, sport coaches are the experts in technical and tactical. Letting them decide the weight room and field sessions is as irresponsible as letting the S&C coach call plays and decide positions.
