I’m sick of hearing that there are too many old people! It’s not our fault that there was a baby boom after WW2! We didn’t ask to be born in a ‘boom’! Saying that, most of us have worked since age 16 for 50 years plus and paid tax and NI towards our pensions. Successive governments have not planned properly with regards our pensions. 😡

As it appears to be pensioner bashing weekend and pensioners seem to be the ones wholly responsible for the dire economic state of the country, I thought I'd apprise you all of some facts and figures. Between April 2024 and March 2025, the cost of keeping asylum seekers in hotels was £2.1 billion. In 2023, £15.3 billion was spent on foreign aid. As of August 2025, there were 740,000 people aged between 16 and 24 years old receiving Universal Credit. The benefits bill for people aged between 16 and 64 in 2024/25 was £123 billion. In this decade (2020s), our annual net zero transition costs are estimated to be £125 billion. UK quangos cost the taxpayers between £376 - 391 billion per year (2023/4 figures). MPs' expenses (not salaries) are in the region of £130 - 150 million a year. The UK has committed to give the European Space Agency £1.84 billion for the period 2022/27. Since 2022, the UK has committed to give Ukraine £21.8 billion. The UK continues to give money to the EU under the Brexit divorce. As at March 2024, there is still £6.4 billion outstanding. 'Free breakfasts' in schools cost the UK taxpayers an estimated 1 billion per year. I'm sure I could go on. But it's just too depressing. The spending is out of all control, and rising. The interest on our national debt rises daily. And we're governed by socialists who love spending everyone's money but their own. As do all governments and councils. But, of course, it's all the fault of old age pensioners. Rolls eyes. A lot. 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄

Can you please share for beautiful Freya? Her previous appeal didn’t do to well. Freya is a 5 year old female German Shepherd x Belgian Malinois. She is available and looking for a new home. Freya is great with adults and very affectionate with her people. She tolerates children but isn't a fan of young kids and prefers her own space. Freya would be suited to a home without any other pets. She is fine with dogs but can be fearful around unfamiliar dogs and may bark if they approach her too quickly. With patience and slow introductions she can build positive relationships. Freya does have a prey drive and will chase small animals. She wouldn't be suited to a home with any cats. Freya is chipped and spayed. She is in good health with no medical issues. She eats a fish based diet as beef and chicken previously gave her itchy skin as a pup however now she tolerates small amounts with no issues. Freya can be left alone if you need to go out. She sleeps in the living room at night and has a number of dog beds but doesn't usually sleep in them. Freya is very good meeting new people and will be excited to meet you. She travels well in the car and will cry with excitement if she is going to the park or somewhere she enjoys. Freya walks well on the lead and is registered at the vets. She likes treats and long lasting chews. Freya also loves a ball and tug toys. She enjoys shredding teddies or cardboard if she is given permission. She enjoys being with people and following people around.
