It was powerful to watch Erika say she forgives these assassins. She has become one of America’s mothers by these tragic events. As part of the capital punishment, the assassins should be made to watch this beautiful memorial. Maybe seeing how many people Charlie inspired and brought to faith will trigger repentance before death.

Years ago, after our middle daughter turned 18 and was working and had a car, I told her that we'd like her to pay $100 a month for rent. She was incensed! She said "this is my house!" I said, "No baby, mom and dad own a house, you don't own a house." I went on to tell her that her clothes didn't magically pick themselves up from the floor, get laundered and hung in her closet. The fridge didn't magically get restocked. The light bill didn't magically get paid and we'd like her to learn some responsibility. We didn't need the money. So she moved out. And struggled for a while. She called her older married brother, who had moved out a few years prior, and was starting a family of his own about how awful we had treated her. Her brother said, "Gee, I sure wish that I could live with mom and dad for a hundred dollars a month. She turned out really great and has been very successful. So, yes.
