How wonderfully brave! How selectively brave, being willing to smash Christian imagery but not any Islamic items.
The ‘no one is religious any more’ excuse is transparently specious, since there are somewhere in the region of 5-6x more Christians than Muslims in Belgium.

They were totally fine smashing statues of Jesus and Madonna (Christianity✝️), saying that 'no one is religious anymore in Belgium' 🇧🇪 . But when asked if they would do the same with Prophet Mohammed (Islam☪️), they immediately reacted and said absolutely not, because it would be inappropriate since there are many Muslims in Belgium🤡. Meanwhile: Christians in Belgium – 35% Islam – 6%. Why is mocking Christianity so popular nowadays?

Section 15(2)(b) of the Education Act 1998 mandates the BoM to "uphold, and be accountable to the patron for so doing, the [ethos] of the school".

About a year ago I spoke at @NaturalWomensIE's conference about the ideological enforcement that #BíCineálta brings into every classroom in Ireland.
In light of your national conversation event today @Education_Ire and @1Hildegarde, I’ve decided to share a summary of calls I had with 6 parents just this week.⬇️⬇️
All of these parents (and many from the other weeks that have passed since that conference) have contacted you and your department directly about these issues, and there is no conversation going on with us.
These two things must be addressed by you and your department:
1️⃣ Please share any documents showing that school principals or Boards of Management have the authority to overrule, frustrate or limit parental opt outs- as is happening all over the country right now
2️⃣ Clarify who is responsible when things go wrong and a school has acted against a parental instruction.

The recent refusal by the House of Lords to reject legislation that permits self-induced abortions at any stage of gestation gives added point to Lord Shackleton’s observation that “A life peer is like a mule with neither pride of ancestry nor hope of posterity” and Walter Bagehot’s remark that “The cure for admiring the House of Lords is to go and look at it."

Speaking to the Jewish community in Rome, Pope John Paul II made crystal clear the teaching of the Catholic Church on 1) the brotherhood of Jews and Christians; 2) the sinfulness of anti-Jewish hatred and prejudice; and 3) the irrevocability of God's covenant with the Jewish people:
"The Jewish religion is not 'extrinsic' to us, but in a certain way is 'intrinsic' to our own religion. With Judaism therefore we have a relationship which we do not have with any other religion. You are our dearly beloved brothers and, in a certain way, you are our elder brothers.
On the basis of this brotherhood renewed by Christ, the Church rejects every form of discrimination and anti-Semitism. She condemns them as contrary to the very spirit of Christianity. She deplores all hatred, persecutions, displays of anti-Semitism directed against the Jews at any time and by anyone....
The covenant between God and the Jewish people has never been revoked. 'The gifts and the call of God are irrevocable' (Rom 11:29).

In contemporary Islam there appears to be no operative distinction between its transcendent aspirations and its political expression, nor does there appear to be any possible space for the existence of the autonomous individual. All three elements—the religious, the political and the individual—are fused in a seemingly inextricable and undifferentiated mass.
In contrast, the differentiation of the sacerdotium and the regnum in the West has been a long and complicated process, a process still unfinished, but however incomplete and ragged the differentiation, it created the existential space for the emergence of the individual. The Archbishop of Canterbury has said that legalising DIY abortions up to the point of birth is “legally, morally, and practically complex”. It isn’t ‘complex’. It’s WRONG. Killing a 39 week old baby is morally indefensible. No Christian should find that hard to say.
