@jacksenburger @Alexfeinberg 1/32 (next 5 spins matching whichever colour was first), so would happen about once every 2 hours on a slowish table with almost 4 minutes between spins

@bhhdhjdjds86216 @Alexfeinberg This has been done before and people have profited off of roulette wheels that were improperly weighted by doing this. But getting 26 straight of one color is just as likely as any other ordered combination of 26 results. In itself it is not proof of anything

@bhhdhjdjds86216 @Alexfeinberg Still kind of jumping the gun, you can’t prove that the odds are skewed based off of one result, you have to study large (much larger than 26) samples of outcomes and determine that it’s exceedingly unlikely the overall distribution of results is even

@Alexfeinberg Slightly lower odds because of the greens but you get the point

@Alexfeinberg 1/64 chance for 6 consecutive 50/50 outcomes, kind of thing probably happens on every roulette wheel in every casino in America at least a few times a week

@0ctoberfullmoon We don't. They're correct. Mostly anyways, I'm sure there are a few grocery stores that actually have bakeries that make fresh bread every day. But like....99% don't.

@danseyebrowslit @Viscountpost @slackkejakke An adult would just say “criss cross” normally, unless being intentionally cutesy “Criss cross applesauce” just makes something not fun (sitting still) fun for kids

@savoy_girl @amazonmilkfrog @exit_everything Honestly we’d usually say something like “it’s *insert company*’s sprite”, “lemon lime soda” is a bit cumbersome. IE “Starry is Pepsi’s sprite” but nobody drinks that shit. Basically every non-sprite lemon lime soda fails, sprite is very ubiquitous.

@aniwacked @fanact77 @wossa_3 @8uwcls I mean no but I think describing them only in terms of games is a little intentionally obtuse. Also I fail to see what any of this has to do with my lament about horizontal development in the US

@lamont1940 @kop_socialista @wossa_3 In terms of feeling yes. Keep in mind that Houston has a notoriously awful train system (even for US standards) and no zoning laws. Everything is very very spread and you have to drive potentially miles to get anywhere, which means the car is ALWAYS the way around.

@fanact77 @wossa_3 @8uwcls I bet this goes hard if you think that games are the only things stadiums are for

@kop_socialista @wossa_3 It’s not a matter of “thinking to put infrastructure in”, the owners of these stadiums WANT getting there on foot/by transport to be difficult so they can charge for parking. Famously, where the Dallas Cowboys play is in Arlington, the largest US city with NO public transit!

@wossa_3 @8uwcls Baseball stadiums tend to be older and have more history, so they are more central, about half of all NFL stadiums, on the other hand, are over five miles away from their respective population centers, often with poor public transit leading to them. (Cowboys actually have none!)

@wossa_3 @8uwcls Sadly the American ideal of life for the majority is suburban focused, not urban focused. Following the “white flight” post WWII development shifted horizontally and now the American populace doesn’t care if a stadium is in a city or a suburb outside of it (like where they live.)
