@Archiebrian6 @JosephHolguin17 @FanaticsNd I don't think it's fair to still talk about his injury like this. I totally understand being frustrated at the time, and I admit I was critical myself. But at this point, with the injury threatening his career, one extremely unlucky moment shouldn't define him.

Two positions where Notre Dame will be very thin in the spring, due to injuries: LB and RB. Freeman said the LBs who remain will get more reps. At RB, the Irish held walk-on tryouts and added a couple. He didn't say it, but walk-on WR Xavier Southall moved to RB as well.

Freeman clarified that Notre Dame has to name a backup quarterback, and it will be a three-way battle between Blake Hebert, Noah Grubbs and Teddy Jarrard (who arrives in June). However: "That doesn't mean you're gonna be the starter next year."

Freeman reiterated, as he has a few times this offseason, that the "Leave No Doubt" phrase stems from using what happened to Notre Dame in December. "I think you lose it when you blame somebody else for the situation you have."

Freeman said Notre Dame will play Christian Gray and Dallas Golden at nickel this spring.

Reporter: "The 2025 playoff situation didn't finish well..." Freeman: "There was no playoff situation."

Marcus Freeman is here for his pre-spring press conference. "It's been a great winter conditioning, winter development stage. We have an unbelievable team."

Hunt prefaced this by saying he's an optimist, but said he thinks it's *when* Jagusah returns, not *if.* "I do believe that. I think there's a strong chance that he's right back where he was."

Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa (ACL) will return some time this fall. Hunt said it could be training camp, but the timeline is still uncertain.

However: "We're extremely hopeful. We're really optimistic." Hunt thinks Jagusah will return to play, but his timeline is TBD. Jagusah's setbacks included the bone in his humerus not fully healing, as well as an infection.

Notre Dame athletic trainer Rob Hunt said Charles Jagusah has had a "bumpy road" in his recovery. He had four separate surgeries and will undergo a final surgery today.
