@BomberBanter_au @Bombers_Boss Weird call normally its the opposite when a player is horrible Essendon fans think they're some superstar. Cox, Tsatas, ElHawli examples.
English

@Bombers_Boss Cant wait for Essendon fans to call him a dud when he doesn’t have 50 & kick 6 goals in his first game 🥴🥴
English

@Kyptastic1 @ScooterMcNeice Na, Herald sun only cares about current AFL players.
Only Essendon Twitter are obsessed with delisted players who play in local league.
English

@ScooterMcNeice Herald Sun currently rushing out 5 more articles about another Essendon list management fail

Jayden Davey has scored 32 of the Saints 42 scoreline so far in the VFL. Kicked 5.2 so far

Scooter@ScooterMcNeice
Go Jayden!!!

@absoessendon He was a clear choice.. as he has been only constant in the leadership group and clearly loved by Scott. Doesn’t mean he’s right though; I don’t think he’s tough enough on teammates. At least he is 'Authentic' and 'super' excited.
English

@PatrickRyen @BomberRicko Is he overrated by Essendon track watchers?
Or is it coaching that deflates his AFL performances to date?
English

Great to see Saad El-Hawli get his first opportunity for the year. No one works harder on the track than Saady!
Go well mate 🖤♥️🙏
For those who didn't get a chance to listen to my chat with him pre-season here it is:

@CraiG_Mc It's not about players coming in. Imagine if we dropped Parish. The message is more "It doesn't matter how bad our VFL side is.. if you can't perform or defend in the AFL you're out." This sends a stronger message.
Ps. The em dashes are a dead give away to AI crafted posts.

My thoughts on fans not being happy about some of younger players getting dropped, instead of more senior players.
Firstly It’s not about dropping the kids as much; it’s more about those kids, who have now got the experience they needed, got some learnings, and now can go back to the VFL and work on what they need to. Also let’s not forget they could be managing loads. These kids will be back soon enough.
Outside of Gresham, they were replaced with kids. Farrow and Day-Wicks are kids, and El-Hawli is still very early in his career…..
Secondly, who are you dropping from the senior players, and why? And who from the VFL is genuinely demanding selection and why?
Fans talk about selection integrity — and I get it. There are senior players at AFL level who haven’t performed and people want to see change.
But that cuts both ways.
And as frustrating as it may be that those players are being backed in to respond at AFL level, we still need to see guys earning their call-up through strong performance in the VFL. If they’re not doing that consistently, they shouldn’t just be handed a game.
Selection integrity cuts both ways.

@nathanhartigan Oh boy @FootyonNine having a field day with Lordo going the no socks

Had a great night at the Yarraville sports club listening to the Essendon champions talk.. I hope they do make James hird the coach again... #afl

English

@ScooterMcNeice I don't see it that way. In fact, the opposite.
Imagine if we dropped Parish for example. The message is more 'doesn't matter how bad our VFL side is; if you can't perform in the AFL, you're out.' Sends a stronger message to senior players.
English

@JakeDav08180745 We're a complex club. 1) we need someone who will inspire the players. 2) we need someone who can align everyone both inside and outside the club. I don't think either can happen under Scott or a 'young' coach. If not Hird we need someone who has been a premiership winning coach.
English

@DonCaldwelll but he was 1000% right. He saw the writing on the wall and wanted out. And look at us now.
English

@jomagoo68 Why does Hurley stay? Not much development being done over the years.. take your Essendon glasses off
English

@ScooterMcNeice Yeah, but they have experience haha It's not unusual for our senior players to 'speak well.' It almost felt like one of the 20 player interviews on Ben Rutten's final year.
English

@BigRick555 Yeah, not sure about it. He doesn't seem hard enough as a captain or teammate. He is also one of the worst offenders. Maybe, finally, other fans are starting to see what I have been seeing for years and years with him.
English

@davidking34 But you can sleep well knowing you absolutely nailed your piece on Essendon
English

“Our pressure was non-existent. We butchered the ball when we had it. We’ve got an enormous amount of work to do on our defence full stop. But when you’re turning the ball over in horrible parts of the ground … no one’s set up to defend that.”

Brad Scott on his message to Essendon fans after THAT loss.
“I have said this for three years, I am never going to tell Essendon fans to be patient. I reckon 25 years is long enough to hear the same message but if I am an Essendon fan I watch the character of these players and particularly the younger players who will make them proud one day. As frustrating as it is, good clubs stick together. You can give up or you can fight. I believe in these guys and think they are made of the right stuff.” @FOXFOOTY
