@Ray_DaHero Load up Codex CLI, type /usage then click on "Redeem usage limit reset", and they'll show you the time there. Do not click a reset from that screen or it will activate the reset and you'll lose it.

I just lost a second banked Codex reset because I had no idea what time it would expire. Goodbye reset 7/11 and 7/18. It stated 7/18 but without the actual time, especially with people living in various time zones, it seems I have to just use it the day before even if I could get more work done. How can we make ChatGPT better. It’s already on your phone, but what do you wish would happen more or less of when you open the app. How can it bring you more joy?

@kaleybrauer @sebkrier Probably because every dot token allows another pass at resolving the response model.

If you ask a frontier LLM a multi-hop reasoning question, e.g., "Who won the Nobel Prize for Chemistry in (1900 + Mozart's age when he died)?", it usually can't answer correctly immediately (no thinking) BUT if you ask the same question & append 300 dots, suddenly it can answer?

People use vastly more stuff when it's cheap. It sounds completely obvious, but seeing the data mapped out across twelve orders of magnitude of volume and cost makes the trend incredibly striking. This is probably as close as you can get to a law in economics or manufacturing.

@OpenAIDevs In your enthusiasm you've deleted the "classic" experience from the ChatGPT app on Mac. My personal chats are now relegated to this woefully regressed "chat" experience that only shows your 5 most recent chats. Is the classic experience deprecated? This is my main interface...

@thsottiaux It seems like ChatGPT "classic" disappeared for Mac users. I just updated and was VERY surprised to find my main interface for ChatGPT disappear.

Another reset for our Codex and ChatGPT Work users. Actually hit 9M active users way earlier today, but then got distracted by the approximately millions of things the team is doing to keep the systems up and reliable. Should have that sweet 100% weekly usage limit back in a few minutes. Go be your productive self and close twitter. Shoo!

@jon_stokes @TheAtlantic Almost all data centers now are being designed with dry/closed loop cooling.

As for the water issue... man I'm too tired to talk about it anymore, but it's nearly impossible to make it clear to ppl that datacenters aren't nearly as bad in this regard as golf courses & lawns, when you have big outlets like @TheAtlantic actively spreading disinfo on this.

I think we're basically doomed. I don't agree with this account's politics most of the time, but he is in earnest. And all of the stuff he's saying here seems obviously true to many people, but it's just wrong & he never going to look into this enough to correct himself.

@jon_stokes In most (soon to be all) states now DC developers foot the bill for any required transmission upgrades via CIAC payments and other mandatory payments.

That said, as more of these datacenters come online then yes at some point & in some places they will start to strain aging grid infra, so that does have to be factored into their cost & into the decision to build them.

I trained an SVLM to do one thing really well: read music Sounds simple, but frontier models consume millions of tokens over hours to write scripts and analyze glyphs, only to hit <50% accuracy. My model takes 10 seconds on one GPU to hit 98% accuracy

I am getting speaking requests etc that I can't handle myself, so I have been interviewing agency/bureaus to help me. I had a call with the CEO of one recently who asked, "So say I have a big group of lawyers gathering for an annual outing at some nice resort in the Caribbean and they're looking to bring someone in. Why would the partners pay you to come in and shake everyone up to the point where they might realize they need to find another job? I can't sell that. They just want to feel good, be inspired and motivated, leave with a single idea. My clients are big corporations, institutional buyers. They can't take risks." "I don't know, I said. "Maybe I'm bad for the economy." I'm obviously not interested in speaking to people who don't care what I have to say or aren't open to hearing it. I guess I have to pivot to the happiness industry.
