So Alex and I moved into our new house in November. The house is awesome and its out in the country which we love. We are in a neighborhood but you cant win em all 🤷 Well, the new young neighbors across the street are apparently very devoted fans of music with LOTS of bass and they are clearly tech savvy cause their speakers can be heard from 3 miles away. They also must have many wealthy friends because 17 cars with really expensive looking rims line the street outside their house every night that they throw large get togethers.....at all hours of the night during the work week. This is all good and fine except its annoying as F*CK hearing that at 2am on a Tuesday and we have little kids who are trying to sleep! We are in the country so noise ordnance is not a thing....need some advice on how to address this without ending up on the news or in an altercation. Anyone got some advice? Please and thank you.

People oddly assumed that I didn’t understand LiDAR, even though I oversaw the custom LiDAR development that Dragon uses to dock with the Space Station
Brivael - FR@brivael

Ils finiront pareil. Never bet against end-to-end. Never bet against la simplicité. Never bet against Elon.

I have a very high (poor) CAC score. Almost certainly hard calcium. And no trouble with high exertion at 14000 feet elevation, so I don't fret. I posit that in some cases CAC comes from being magnesium deficient. In my case, across 12 years of extreme endurance exercise (eg I did 1.25 million vertical feet in one year). The calcium precipitates in the body when magnesium is deficient. Same likely explanation for "fish teeth" in acromium that needed surgery—calcium that precipitated due to low Mg. We don't need all this cholesterol nonsense; it's just elementary chemistry in some cases. windinmyface.com/blog/2020/2020…

3 months ago my cardiologist told me that I needed to go on statins NO MATTER WHAT He was wrong. I’m living proof. I share my story in case it might help others who find themselves in a similar situation 👇 (And please note I’m not here to say all modern medicine is a scam, but doctors don’t always have your best interests or individual situation in mind) First the number: > 203 < Note I didn’t say numberS They literally diagnosed me based on my LDL “bad cholesterol” of 203 mg/dL alone Because if it is > 190mg/dL they automatically assume it’s genetics, and they call it Familial Hypercholesterolemia The problem is that they don’t actually run a test to confirm They don’t even ask about your diet (which you’ll soon see what the primary driver for my high cholesterol) So my doctor told me I needed to IMMEDIATELY go on a heavy dose of 80mg of Rosuvastatin combined with Ezetimibe and he made sure to tell me I’d be ON THESE PILLS FOR LIFE And he used scare tactics saying that there wasn’t a moment to lose But the worst part of it was that he even said my 5 kids should be tested and they may also need to be put on statins (my wife thought this part was aggressive) But the one good thing about healthcare is that you don’t have to always listen to your doctor Always be your own advocate And listen to your gut if something doesn’t seem right So I told them I’m going to take 3 months and then another lipid panel before I signed up for the big pharma for life track My daily regimen included: - 6g beta-glucans (1c. oats or bran) - 5g psyllium husk - Lots of plant sterols (e.g. moringa leaves from my yard) - 6oz. salmon - whole grains and legumes - 30 minutes of cardio - 30 minutes of strength training - Drastically reduced my saturated fat intake - ZERO ALCOHOL (duh) My wife can attest to my religious, borderline superstitious, adherence to the plan And now 3 months later I am proud to say that I successfully halved my LDL to 105 mg/dL from “Very High” to only a touch above “Desirable” My total cholesterol is down over 30% and both my HDL and Triglycerides improved favorably Now I’m no doctor, but all signs point to my cholesterol being a result of my sustained keto diet and me being a LMHR (“Lean Mass Hyper Responder”) phenotype. I hope that this reaches a few people in a similar boat. I’m happy to share specifics for anyone who would find this helpful. Shoot me a DM if you’d like to chat or share your situation below if you’re willing Stay healthy 𝕏! 🖤

Calories determine whether you gain or lose fat. Insulin does not override that basic fact. If you are in a real caloric deficit (eating less energy than your body burns), you will lose fat. Period. Insulin levels do not change this. Insulin helps direct surplus energy into storage. But that surplus has to exist first. In a deficit, there is no extra energy circulating for insulin to shuttle into fat cells. Your body simply pulls from stored fat to meet its needs. This is why multiple studies show similar fat loss on isocaloric diets (same calories) whether they are high-carb (higher insulin) or low-carb (lower insulin). Energy balance is still the driver. The insulin model has useful insights on hunger and food quality, but it does not let you bypass the laws of thermodynamics. For fat loss, a deficit is required. No hormone changes the math.
