₹११,२६७ फक्त ठरवले वारसा वृक्षांचे मूल्य, साधुवासवनी ब्रीज रुंदीकरणासाठी वारसा वृक्षांवर कुऱ्हाड पुणे — साधू वासवानी ब्रिज… कोरेगाव पार्कला जाणाऱ्या प्रत्येक पुणेकराच्या आठवणींमध्ये कोरलेले एक ठिकाण. सेट मीरा स्कूलजवळील हा ब्रिज — जिथे दोन्ही बाजूंना उभ्या असलेल्या भल्या मोठ्या वडांच्या रांगा, लगतचा भव्य रेन ट्री, आणि दाट हिरवाईत हरवलेला रस्ता — हा फक्त मार्ग नव्हता, तर जिवंत निसर्गाचा अनुभव होता. या झाडांच्या सावलीतून जाताना सूर्यकिरणही रस्त्यावर पोहोचत नाहीत — अशी दाट छाया… आता ती फक्त आठवण बनणार आहे कारण — ही हिरवाई आता कायमची संपवण्यात येत आहे. जुना झाला म्हणून ब्रिज पाडण्यात आला. त्यानंतर ब्रिजची रुंदी वाढवण्याचा निर्णय घेतला गेला — आणि त्याच वेळी या वारसा झाडांवर कुर्हाड चालवण्याची तयारी सुरू झाली. याला पुणेकर नागरिकांनी तीव्र विरोध केला. काहींनी न्यायालयात धाव घेतली. न्यायालयाने स्पष्ट आदेश दिला — हेरिटेज झाडांना हात लावायचा नाही. पुणे मनपा अधिकाऱ्यांनी न्यायालयात मान डोलावली. आश्वासन दिलं. पालन करण्याची शपथ घेतली. आणि मग… काही महिन्यांपूर्वी रातोरात डाव साधला ४ भलेमोठे वड आणि २ पिंपळ — दशके उभी असलेली, शेकडो जीवांना आसरा देणारी, ही वारसा झाडे — तोडून टाकण्यात आली. ही झाडे तोडण्यासाठी पुणे मनपा प्रकल्प विभागाने यावेळी शक्कलच लढवली असे म्हणावे लागेल. यावेळी नागरिकांना अनभिज्ञ ठेऊन पुणे मनपाने पुणे कँटोन्मेंट बोर्डाची परवानगी घेतली. वनविभागाने या वारसा वृक्षांचे मूल्यांकन करून त्यांची किंमत ठरवली - फक्त ₹११,२६७. हे पैसे पुणे कॅन्टोन्मेंट बोर्डाकडे जमा करून पुणे मनपाने ही झाडे तोडून टाकली. याची माहिती मिळाल्यावर स्थानिक नागरिक रेखा जोशी आणि अजय दलाया यांनी परवा घटनास्थळी जाऊन जे पाहिले ते अस्वस्थ करणारे होते — ताज्या तोडलेल्या खोडांचे ढीग, तुटलेल्या फांद्या, आणि निपचित पडलेलं लाकूड. ७०–८० वर्षे उभी राहून सावली देणारी झाडे… आता त्यांच्या अवशेषांचे “अंतिम दर्शन” या व्हिडीओ च्यामाध्यमातून आपणाला घडवत आहेत. हा फक्त वृक्षतोडीचा प्रकार नाही. हा विश्वासघात आहे. पहिले सांगितले — “फक्त काही झाडे तोडणार.” नंतर आश्वासन — “ट्रान्सप्लांट करू.” आणि शेवटी — न्यायालयात दिलेल्या शब्दालाही तिलांजली. प्रश्न आता फक्त या ६ झाडांचा नाही. आज ब्रिज रुंद झाला. उद्या रस्ता रुंद होईल. आणि त्यानंतर — रस्त्याच्या कडेला उभ्या असलेल्या उरलेल्या वडांच्या रांगाही “विकासा”च्या नावाखाली जमीनदोस्त केल्या जातील. जर वारसा वृक्ष कापली जात असतील, तर मग या पुण्याची हिरवाई संपायला वेळ लागणार नाही. शेवटी एकच प्रश्न — पुणेकरांनी श्वास घ्यायचा कशावर? काँक्रीटवर… की विकासाच्या भूल थापांवर ? #Pune #Sadhuwaswani #Bridge #Trees @mohol_murlidhar @SidShirole @mieknathshinde @AUThackeray @SalimAli_Bird @MrMcgreely @VinitaDeshmukh @AnathpindikaS @whattosayfolks @TamhiniGhat @PuneRivers @bonyuppal @SpeakUpPune @amardasbhalla @RajaSubramani22 @navipeth @sumedh_bp @Pushkaraj2020 @ameetgsingh @KatYogesh @ultra__sonic @VetalTekdi @RupeshSarode03 @RupeshKesekar @mhemachari @suratkal @Meghnarbhandari
