@jakegriffoo @MCR_ADM @fesshole Sure, it doesn't show the time of purchase on the ticket itself. However, when they scan your ticket on their ticket scanner, it shows them the time you bought it, on their device. Hence, the inspector will see the time of purchase.

My train to work is only a 5 minute journey. I load up my train ticket app and take the purchase all the way to the last screen. I only click 'pay' if the conductor asks for my ticket, pretending the apps 'taking ages to load'. Not been caught yet.

@jakegriffoo @MCR_ADM @fesshole Yeah, but you'd still be buying the ticket after boarding and the inspector would know, as they can see the time you bought the ticket. You'd still get a penalty fare notice for it, as you must have a valid ticket before boarding the train.
