PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT: We are excited to announce that Coach Steve Vaught will be joining our Varsity Coaching Staff. Coach Vaught will bring a tremendous amount of success and experience to our staff. Steve was the Head Coach at Arizona College Prep in 2024 and lead them to the State Championship Game. Coach Vaught was the Defensive Coordinator/DB Coach at Chandler High School in Arizona that won 5 State Championships and 2 State Runner-Up finishes. Steve is a 2004 Portage Grad, where he played for Coach Buzea while earning All-State honors and was selected as an Indiana North-All Star. He went on to have a terrific collegiate career at St Francis in Fort Wayne as they went to 3 straight NAIA National Championship games and was named an Academic All-American. Steve previously was an Assistant Coach with Coach Buzea at Michigan City and Homewood-Flossmoor. Coach Vaught will be working on the Defensive side of the Football for the Dogs!!
