Charleston has hired Akron head coach John Groce, source told @thefieldof68. Groce, 54, has taken the Zips to three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances and gone dancing four of the last five seasons. Groce will replace Chris Mack, who left Charleston after two seasons to take the South Florida job. Groce is 377-225 in his career. He was also the head coach at Ohio (2008-12) and Illinois (2012-17).

What do you guys think is the best “true” muni out there?
A “true” muni, according to my entirely made up definition, must be both owned by the municipality and offer locals greens fees under $50 during the week.
Until someone beats it, the terrific Charleston Muni has my vote.

College of Charleston with a 79-76 road win at UNCW to snap a 6–game losing streak against the Seahawks.
Jlynn Counter was sensational in the second half and freshman Chris Davis has really matured in his decision-making and had his best scoring game.
UNCW now 14-3 with a game left Tuesday at Elon. If Seahawks lose, would share regular-season title.
Charleston has won 10 of its last 12 games.
