I’m at a bit of a loss on community right now. We’ve always had a good number of no-shows at free events, but it feels like these days you’re lucky to get 40% of your registered numbers. We’ve tried a few things to no avail. Ideas?

I took a Tesla for a test drive, first time I've driven one. There is an element of 'wow' because it is so different form anything I've driven before, but still undecided. EVs are so expensive :/

@scarletinked What your discussing here has ramifications for so much. It makes parsing text to any format so easy. You’re asking it to parse for Alexa. But it could be for json. Or sql commands. Or it would be parsing details from ver long conversations.

I was chatting with someone from Alexa recently. I complained that ChatGPT was so much better than Alexa. They had some thoughts about why it was hard to fully integrate AI into a smart device. I was thinking about it later, and I realized that what you really need is a conversational AI, not as a part of Alexa, but in front of Alexa. I told ChatGPT (GPT-4) to translate what I said into Alexa commands. See attachment. I also gave Alexa the same prompt, to keep things fair. "I wish I could wake up around 7am" ChatGPT - "Alexa, set an alarm for 7am" Actual Alexa - "hmm, I don't know that one" "I think we're out of milk" ChatGPT - "Alexa, add milk to my shopping list." Actual Alexa - "here's an answer from an alexa answers contributor. A drink you drink is the definition of a 5 letter word.." "I have to pick up my daughter in 45 minutes" ChatGPT - "Alexa, set a timer for 45 minutes" Actual Alexa - "hmm, I don't know that one" "gosh is it hot or something?" ChatGPT - "Alexa, what's the current temperature?" Actual Alexa - "I don't have that info for east renton highlands, but east renton highlands is part of king county. king country's record high temperature is 112F, on.." Looking at the simple examples I tried, I'd greatly prefer to talk to ChatGPT, and have it talk to Alexa for me.

My dev crew in #microsoft CSE have been working with @rosorg #ROS2 recently and we put a lot of effort to modernise the development environment. I extracted some of it out to a github repo. Hopefully someone finds it useful. @jakkaj @jsburckhardt github.com/dasiths/Modern…

@TathamOddie I did something similar! Red is what we actually pulled, green is what we would have with battery and blue is what the battery charge level would have been. I measured onsite using direct ct clamps
