@jck77 When your blooms are gone, you have to go out in the patio- purgatory. When you grow a stem and new buds you get to come back inside. It’s very motivating. 😂

@JulsIsHereNow 😂 The guesthouse is frequently booked by friends and family. I don’t charge rent but I do make them launder their linens and tidy after. Also, I reign hell fury upon those that don’t squeegee the shower door or leave towels in the washing machine. 😂

@no2wipp This black racer or coach whip (didn’t get close enough to know for sure) ate a sparrow on my patio yesterday. I’m at the very edge of civilisation. No houses beyond me- just the mountain. I watch for rattlesnakes everyday, period. 😳

@tuffcluck I bought a BB gun. And, I love birds.
Those Gila woodpeckers are clever fellows, though. They know what my BB gun is and they either skeedaddle or sit on a window pane ledge. Thankfully, the last two years, the boys found girlfriends and have left my house alone.

#ChihuahuanDesert today. A male Ladder-backed Woodpecker on an ocotillo branch; massive clump of pencil cholla; an old Soaptree Yucca I thought the drought had killed; hedgehog cactus.

@JulsIsHereNow I remember my 17 years of next to nothing monsoons and hot nights in Scottsdale. Hence, the move to Tucson.
2.5” this evening. Y’all have a better Costco. And, shopping online can be a pain. But, otherwise- no regrets.

@jam7x I spent much of the spring laying out rock dams around the yard to catch the monsoon from the roof and road...and they are all working wonderfully, I've got PONDS lol.

Walked out the grab the morning paper and saw this right off the curb. We had a young black bear visiting the neighborhood several times last fall. Is he back? That doesn’t look like coyote, javelina, or bobcat to me. 🤔

Another Sonoran Desert sunset after the monsoon rain of the afternoon washing all the dust. A cool and moist breeze on the south patio overlooking the city and the Tucson Mountains. The agave bloom stalk makes it *chef’s kiss* perfection. I love a good monsoon season.
