BYD is not crushing Tesla, quite the opposite, look at numbers in China, then look at profitability. While you are at profitability, look at Waymo's. Claims that we’re going to consume all of Utah’s electricity, drain the Great Salt Lake, or immediately build the world’s largest facility simply aren’t true. The reality is we’re building the project in phases, starting with a standard sized 1.5 gigawatt facility powered entirely by our own generation infrastructure not Utah’s grid. In fact, the goal is to eventually contribute power back into the local system to help stabilize energy costs. This project would create thousands of construction jobs, thousands more long term engineering and support jobs, and major tax revenue for Box Elder County over the next decade. We’re also going through every required process EPA approvals, water permits, air permits, noise compliance, and public review. What concerns me most is how aggressively misinformation has been amplified around power development projects across America.
