@TheMaverickMic Respectfully, and I include myself in this, I don’t think we as non-NHL playing people get to use the “Who’s that?” line to anyone that played a shift in the NHL. Probably not the dunk you think it is.

@james_shea @mcclxskey You know who was thought of highly in these 'hockey circles'? Burke, Nonis, Treliving. It's an old boys club and Chayka isn't part of it. I don't mind that the Leafs went off th beaten path. Let's see what the moves are this summer

Would love to know what's really driving the vitriol Steve Simmons has for John Chayka. There's more going on here than "I don't think he's a great hire." Seems deeply personal to Steve.

@d_ryan_76 @mcclxskey 1 - He never called anyone a “thief”, you literally made that up. 2 - He was relaying what other people in the game had called him, not Simmons himself.

@wyshynski Fantastic nuanced tweet, Greg. Mehta and Chayka clearly have very similar reputations and pasts in the league and as a result, the questions they are asked should be similar too.

NJ Media to Sunny Mehta: Do you still have that dope Starter jacket from when you grew up as a Devils fan? TOR Media to John Chayka: Everyone says you're a con man and a liar, thoughts? Can't imagine why some career decisions are made ...

@tavkniesnythews How is that not a fair, albeit tough, question to ask though? Whether we choose to believe Chayka will do a good job or not, the elephant in the room is that clearly Chayka is not thought of very highly amongst most hockey circles. That should just be swept under the rug?

Steve Simmons is one of the most embarrassing, garbage human beings in hockey. Media privileges privilege to these availability’s should be revoked yesterday. He is by far, and it’s not close, the most toxic reporter in Toronto. Ask a question without being disrespectful for once, goof.

@PuckDontLie I’d like to think Chayka would work out as well and like MJ, I’m optimistic about it. However, it’s objectively insane to chastise people who don’t share that view given his track record on his first go around. Absolutely insane.

Mike Johnson is one of the smartest hockey analysts there is. He's optimistic that Sundin/Chayka can work. But of course the mouth-breathers on here will listen to Jeff O'Neill as he whines about the move
First Up@FirstUp1050

This morning on #FirstUp, @mike_p_johnson explained why the Mats Sundin-John Chayka pairing could work out as the old school approach of Sundin could balance out the new school approach of someone like Chayka. Do you agree with MJ? Let us know! 👇

@AndrewStoeten What about 5 bad performances out of 10? Does that mean anything? I’d agree with you that Jeff Hoffman isn’t a problem, but then we’d both be wrong.

José Berríos will likely begin his rehab in Minor League games next week, targetting 50 pitches in his first one. That likely means a couple more follow. Between Berríos and Yesavage, some much-needed help is on the way for the #BlueJays

@TheMaverickMic It’s definitely not over. But given our injuries already and weak schedule so far this season, comparing it to last season’s start is not accurate. Things are bad right now.

Jays were sitting at 14-16 at the end of April last year and they looked exactly like this garbage right now. Same sloppy shit, same mediocre vibes. Bunch of you soft-ass bandwagon jumpers are packing your bags and taking flight. Go ahead, run. We all know you'll be back the second they string together four wins in a row, acting like you never left. Typical fairweather clowns. Stay gone this time.

I was told Alejandro Kirk is "no big loss" because he "hasn't hit since the ALCS" and is "overrated defensively". Enjoy your new reality for the next few weeks/months.

@andi_1117 @AirCanada @ScottFoxonair Yup, no one has said that what language the CEO speaks is more important than safety of passengers. However 1 of the 2 families that lost a family member literally speak French and so it is nice that the CEO is now speaking. to them in a language they understand. Hope that helps.

@AirCanada @ScottFoxonair The Safety of flying for passengers and crew matters more than what language the CEO doesn’t speak. I’m sorry this whole thing is ridiculous. Focus on helping the families who lost lives and the victims still dealing with this horrible tragedy.

Harry Douglas was absolutely right. None of the Falcons fans I know like the Stefanski hire. He had a losing record in Cleveland and they didn’t like how he handled the Shedeur Sanders situation. They LOVE Deion in the ATL. It’s a Black city, with one of the Blackest fan bases in the NFL, and they have a Black QB on their roster — so a lot of ATL fans are side-eyeing this hire. Stefanski isn’t going to get a honeymoon there.

@WisconsinSass What would your point have been? You don’t get to misidentify serious medical diseases like alcoholism just because your personal relationship to alcohol may be different than others. Having a cold beer with dinner most nights is not alcoholism.
