@elonmusk Disallow political parties and the ability to get "donations." Setup free government platforms for folks to speak on and be heard to be voted into office. This will be by far a more fair system than whoever has the most money, and help combat corruption.

@mcuban Kind of crazy to think the government should be investing and gambling tax payer money anyways. Use the funds to fund at-home programs, like we expect them to do. Far too many problems here that need attention, especially with this crazy debt we keep adding to.

Let's think this through.
1. You have to borrow the money. 50b+ a year ? Plus interest.
2. If its truly VC, then we can expect the same hit ratio of 10 to 20%
3. But those hits don't cash out for 10 yrs + ? Def .more than 4 years
4. If you are paying funds for deals the fraud and Nepo will be extreme
5. Literally in 4 years the SWF can be in debt $200b or more (if you aren't doing that much or more, then what's the point ? ), plus accrued interest. What do you think the politics of that are ?
SWFs can work when you are investing a surplus. Otherwise this is UBI for fund managers

My recommendation for consideration: Have one CEO, unpaid, who is there to give back to the USA vs make money. This person should be a killer who has clearly made a lot of money as an investor. He should view this as a sign of pride to spend 4 years and then rotate out. Have a board of 4 other killer investors, also unpaid, who have also demonstrated a clear skill in making money in their preferred market. Let these group of 5 guide the way. This team of 5 should vote up or down new investments. Everything should be transparent. The sovereign wealth fund should demand preferential deals from the best funds in the world and at discounted fee and carry. This could be a great way to give all Americans a bigger share in our shared upside. I hope you pull this off!

My company, Hampton, is in the midst of a major change.
We're switching to in real life meetings (vs. digital).
So the way Hampton works: you're put into an 8 person Core group. These people, they're your crew. You meet monthly.
They have similar types/sizes of businesses as you.
When we started the company, we thought digital meetings were the way to go.
This way your Core group wasn't restricted to geography.
Turns out, people crave IRL meetings a TON.
This seems obvious now. But when we started 2 years ago, it wasn't.
In a handful of months, we'll have thousands of entrepreneurs meeting IRL every month.
That's pretty cool (so long as it works!) and shockingly hard to pull off.

I am fortunate to be able to spend 6-8weeks in Italy every summer. I work in Milan for 4-6 weeks and then take my summer vacation for 2-3 weeks.
More importantly, I get to eat non American food sources for an extended period every year. And I always lose weight! Usually maintaining muscle mass, losing fat.
This summer, as usual, I ate pasta, bread, drank wine, ate gelato and got moderate exercise by walking around most days. I lost 5lbs and came back from Europe 164lb.
After 2.5 months back in the US, I’ve gained back 2.5lbs. I work out more. Drink less. Eat the same or better…but I can’t seem to outrun the American food supply no matter what I do.
If I can’t outrun an American food supply with the resources I have access to, how are most other Americans expected to do so?
Is it any wonder, then, that 1/3 of all kids are obese/near obese?
