17 days later, what stands out the most from the response to this tweet is how many of you think Matt Quatraro is a problem. There is no topic on which I differ more from the fan base.
So to reiterate: you are all wrong. Q is a terrific manager. The Royals are lucky to have him.

For the 20th time in the last 23 years, the Royals have lost 6 in a row in the first 60 games of the season. (And in 17 of the 20 years it happened by Game 35.) The only three seasons it did *not* happen (2014, 2015, 2024) are the only three seasons they made the playoffs.

Definitely biased as a Huskers and Royals fan, but Gordon's career had HoF-level impact even if he's a bit short numbers-wise. Set the tone for the organization with his work ethic and he was nails in the playoffs. And of course, he was arguably the best defensive LF of all time.

@ScoringChanges Similar situation in the Royals game Wednesday. Difficult grounder to second and the throw got past first. Scored (correctly imo) as a hit plus run scoring on a throwing error. But I think I would have given the error to 1B. So hard to decide on plays like this

Here is the play Jeff is asking about, and this was recorded as a missed catch error at second. I'm guessing the scorer felt the stretch was insufficient, and that had the second baseman properly stretched, he would have caught it.
It won't change any of the earned runs, but it's possible that Jackson appeals to not have the error on him.
