@NACHOS2D_ Cooked? No, I don't think so, because that's the most wooden acting I've seen since William Shatner took command of the Starship Enterprise.

@portraitinflesh My RE lessons, 1980s secondary school, also included Islam, Judaism, and others. My daughter has covered various religions in Primary School. This term, Early Islamic Civilisation. I'm a Parent Governor. If our school recevied a complaint about this I'd back the head and teachers

Random thought If you're going down a river at 3mph and your canoe loses a tire, how much pancake mix would you need to re-shingle your roof?

@MichaelRosenYes In Italy, centuries ago rival dukes went to war with mercenary armies. The opposing mercenaries would usually meet up beforehand and produce a script for the battle ensuring all stayed safe!

@mac499 @archer_rs Yes, but they haven't lost any money because they didn't buy it with their own money in the first place. They just took out a loan that gets put on the acquired company, then wash their hands and move on to the next one.

The bankruptcy of NCP carparks in the UK is a classic example of listening to management consultants who will talk about "unlocking value", in NCP's case selling properties and leasing them back only to discover that lack of ownership has unforeseen consequences. Always own land

@nitzukai I'm an Electronic Engineer and PCB Designer. USB-C is a bloody pain to lay out with the differential pair, differential impedance tracking and the reversability, particulary if you only really needed a two layer board. I would rather they changed it back.

is USB-C the final evolution of ports or is there any possible design that could replace it in the future before we go fully wireless

@Moonlight_myths There was a famous case in Apartaid South Africa where two white parents had non-identical twins, one white, the other black. Under the White South African regime you can imagine this created a lot of strife for the people involved. 2/2

@Moonlight_myths My wife has a PHD in immunology and was fasinated by genetic inheritance as a subject. Yes, a gene from an ancester can show up out the blue as it were. There have been cases of white parents giving birth to black children because of an inherited gene from an ancestor. 1/2

My sister gave birth to a red-haired daughter. But she and her husband are both dark-haired. No one in our family has red hair. My sister insists that her husband's great-grandfather was red-haired, and that's how it was passed down. Her husband didn't believe her, especially since she has this one red-haired colleague at work. Anyway, he insisted on a DNA test, which they did after huge fights and screaming matches. My sister threw the paper in his face. It showed 99.9% he's the father. But he still doesn't believe it, says the test could have been faked or someone paid off the lab. He wants to do another one at a different lab, but my sister is afraid this will definitely lead them to divorce He's not even talking to my sister right now. But he says it's better to find out the truth and live with a clear conscience. He doesn't want to raise someone else's child. I believe my sister 100%, but I have to admit the situation is pretty bizarre. Does anyone know anything about genetics?

Happy birthday to John de Lancie. DYK? He assumed his appearance on TNG would be a one-time guest role. At the time, he was used to appearing in single-episode guest spots on TV shows, so he thought Q would only appear in the pilot and never return.

@Templarpilled Both Dune, Star Wars and many other Sci-Fi works have elements that can be traced back to The Lensmen series by E E Doc Smith. Published before all of them.

@KariLawler Some of us remember Dune II before Command and Conquer was published. I remember Gunship 2000, A10 Tank Buster, Sim City, Civilization, Age of Empires (the originals), Indiana Jones & Fate of Atlantis, Lure of the Temptress, Monkey Island 1 and 2.

Who remembers PC gaming in the 1990s? If so, what's your favourite game from this era? ... Gaming like it's the 1990s with a CD-ROM classic everyone keeps recommending, that being the original 1995 RTS (real-time strategy) game, Command & Conquer from Westwood Studios. (cont...)

@Wisteraverse Americans don't have Beer. They perfected the art of Macro-Brewing and brewed one batch in 1776, and have been cutting it down with water since. They now only have Beer flavoured mineral water.

Dr. Ketzer (follows back fiction writers)
An American beta-reader criticized my 18-year-old character drinking beer because they assumed it should not be allowed, despite it being high fantasy set in a fictional & historical world. Also drinking age (beer, wine) in Germany is 16. Not every place is the US!🤦‍♀️
Ruby is editing 🦊🌙 🇨🇦@RubyMTemple

So apparently there’s a lot of knowledge I can use from being Canadian and setting my story in Alberta Canada that is gonna make me seem legit. For example, the drinking age here is 18, my FMC is 19 and is surprised that she can drink at the bar (my FMC is American)
