People migrating to the US have increasingly died or disappeared while traversing the treacherous US-Mexico land border. 30 years ago, the US government launched Prevention Through Deterrence, with policies explicitly aimed at forcing irregular migrants onto "hostile terrain."



no one is going to invest money in studying this but would love to know what journalists who have been economically frozen out of the media industry are doing now to earn a living, especially with jobs in so many traditional second career fields (tech, marketing) also drying up
