My grandfather bought an apartment from Blackrock on a 200 year mortgage.
1 bed, 1 bath, no car.
My family has been paying it off for 80 years now. We're nearly half way there.
We're so grateful that we're not renting.
And in just 2 more generations, we'll own it outright.
We've only paid $8.6 million in interest. The apartment was $500k initially.
The apartment's downtown, near GloboCorp where my grandfather used to work.
He died at his desk and they forgot to tell us about it.
We found out a few weeks later, only because Blackrock starting chasing us for mortgage payments.
Sometimes I get sad knowing that I won't see the apartment paid off in my lifetime.
But I know we're building Generational Wealth, so that's OK.

I hired an ex McKinsey consultant to compile all my companies' sales materials.
I wanted to see how each company reaches over $20M in annual revenue.
He collected:
- Recordings of sales calls
- Sales scripts
- SOPs
- Led gen systems
- etc
100s of top companies paid me for access to it.
Today I'll give it away for free.
Comment "sales" to get a copy.

@the_salty_one_ Total settlements have an estimated value of 2.6 billion. Dunedin hospital rebuild is expected to cost $1.88 billion. How are they making billions on that? They do build houses.

Quick rewrite:
I’m the CEO of CrowdStrike. I’m devastated to see the scale of today’s outage and will be personally working on it together with our team until it’s fully fixed for every single user.
But I wanted to take a moment to come here and tell you that I am sorry. People around the world rely on us, and incidents like this can’t happen. This came from an error that ultimately is my responsibility.
Here’s what we know: [brief synopsis of what went wrong and how it wasn’t a cyberattack etc.]
Our entire team will be working all day, all night, all weekend, and however long it takes to resolve this and make sure it doesn’t happen again.
We’ll be sharing updates as often as possible, which you can find here [link].
If you need to contact us, the quickest way is to go here [link].
We’re responding as quickly as possible. Thank you to everyone who has alerted us to the outage, and again, please accept my deepest apologies. More to come soon.

Now the #climatecrisis is evident, a common argument by those who still defend polluters is that “NZ is too small to make a difference so shouldn’t have to stop intensive dairy farming or driving Ford rangers to school in Auckland”

Labour’s war on landlords has created this mess. Interest deductibility changes, bright line extension to ten years, plus new regulations making it harder has just led to reduced supply, increased rent, and homelessness.

This is an objection to my tweets about feature flags, decoupling releases from deploys and autodeploys, but..I don't think it makes the point you think it makes.
Rolling back past multiple deploys is a bad scene no matter what, but auto deploys aren't the bad guy here.
Jamu Kakar@jkakar
@mipsytipsy It’s going to be a fun time rolling back after you’ve deployed and realize there’s a problem that requires you to revert your changes, but five other branches landed and instantly deployed since your branch landed. If you’re extra unlucky you get to deal with merge conflicts. 😬

@adikohler @thewarehousenz Nice. Makes sense to make it easier to be prepared - being a public interest.

@colecameron Unsure. I think you would need a generator / solar + battery setup to utilize.
A lot of generators were purchased when the expectation was power might take at least two weeks to restore. It appears lots are now being re-sold.

@jamespmoriarty Are folks switching to Starlink? Due to cost, imagine you’d need to use the Starlink as your main every day connection in place of fiber—bit expensive on the monthly to be just a back up. Also are folks buying up generators?
