@WifeDirtyTesla @mgirard My 2023 3 in the UK has a lot of phantom braking including 3 specific spots on a major road 70mph speed limit where it slams on for me and all Tesla users I know for at least 3 years and yet hasn't been fixed and its enough for me not to recommend my wife drives it

Serious phantom brake on 14.3.3 today. Do you guys see a reason for braking that I don't? I disengaged out of frustration, worried it would happen again. I've built up some tolerance from what Chris put me through in the early days, but we aren't in beta anymore, and I expected more honestly. I have high hopes that Tesla AI will polish this up soon, but we aren't there yet.

One thing that REALLY gets on my goat is the UK police force buying foreign cars. There are around 40,000 police vehicles on the road and the majority of them are built abroad! That’s approx £1.2bn going off-shore if they’re replaced every 3 years. It’s only a matter of time until we have BYD police cars… If I was in charge of the country the first thing I’d do is mandate that all UK emergency services must buy vehicles built in Britain. 🇬🇧 I mean how obvious is that to help our own economy, job market and above all pride?

My husband and I booked a flight months in advance for our honeymoon. We booked 4A and 4C in First Class so we could talk, relax, and celebrate. We board the plane, get to row 4, and there is already a woman sitting in my seat, 4C. My husband politely looks at her and says, "Oh, hi, sorry, I think you might be in my wife's seat." The woman looks up, sighs dramatically, and says, "The gate agent moved her. I need this seat because of my medical condition. She's in 12D." 12D is Comfort Plus. Not First Class. I immediately look at my phone—sure enough, the airline app had refreshed while we were walking down the jet bridge and changed my seat without a single notification or warning. My husband instantly flagged down the lead flight attendant. He explained that we paid thousands for these specific seats for our honeymoon, and I was absolutely not moving to a lower class because someone else made a last-minute demand at the gate. The flight attendant went to speak to the woman, who instantly started crying, claiming we were "harassing" her. The flight attendant then turned to my husband and whispered, "Can't you just be a gentleman so we can take off on time?" The sheer audacity. My husband stood his ground. "If she has a medical need for First Class, she can buy a First Class ticket. Give my wife her seat back, or get the supervisor down here right now." They eventually moved the woman back to her original seat in coach, but for the rest of the flight, the flight attendant completely penalized us. She ignored our drink orders and literally slammed our snack baskets onto our trays. Sorry for wanting the seat we actually paid for, I guess?

Interestingly, almost every consulting firm presentation I attended for ten years stated that "80% of consumers [say they] will pay more for sustainable products". I used to sit at the back as a lonely marketer thinking "that's bollocks". But the consulting firms made money implementing all this woke shit, so it paid them to continue reciting this dumb litany.

@David__Osland I don't disagree and I don't think that's the challenge the challenge is that if there's no money for everybody's wages to go up then the wealthier haven't got the money to pay for the services and the goods which means mass unemployment

I think that 35 hours work a week should not only pay the rent and put food on the table, but leave you enough over for the odd night out and an annual holiday. And if that belief makes me an economically illiterate leftwing extremist, so be it.

At last the 45p HMRC approved pence per mile you can claim for business mileage has increased to 55p from 6th April 2026. The last increase to 45p was in 2011! gov.uk/expenses-and-b… If your employer doesn’t increase it you can put the extra 10p on your tax return.
