Yesterday’s SCOTUS ruling shows just how far MAGA Republicans will go to disenfranchise Black voters, and how afraid they are of Black representation in Congress. We can't allow our voices to be silenced, especially now, under an authoritarian administration that seeks to roll back our fundamental freedoms. Democrats must fight back against this blatant attack on our voting rights, pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, and exercise all options available to stand up for the right to vote.

A major win for the Constitution! Today’s SCOTUS ruling confirms that race cannot be the "predominant" factor in drawing congressional maps. By striking down the forced racial gerrymander, the Court is ensuring voters are seen as individuals, not just demographic groups. The Democrats do not care about black representation, they only care about Democrat representation. Exhibit A: Burgess Owens of Utah. Black man. Super Bowl Champion. Republican. Democrat interest groups in Utah swayed a state judge to implement new maps to get a Democrat in his congressional seat. Let's be clear, the Democrats use the VRA to protect Democrat power.

The Supreme Court's decision to end racial gerrymandering is a victory for the Constitution and for the principle of the equal application of the law.

Democrats will no longer be able to draw congressional maps based on skin color. We defeated racism.
