🔸Expect fake news to intensify! Impeachment Prosecutor, Rep. Leila de Lima, basically warned everyone to brace themselves. She explained that as the impeachment proceedings move closer to the actual trial, we should expect a major wave of fake news, disinformation, and twisted facts flooding social media. She urged the public and reporters to be extra careful and skeptical about what they see, because certain players will likely use these lies to try and undermine the prosecution's case. In other words, huwag basta maniwala sa chismis!

Sleeping together is not love. Talking 24/7 is not love. Laying up is not love. Going on dates is not love. Love is someone seeing the absolute worst side of you and still loving you the same. It’s someone making stuff happen for you when you can’t. It’s someone holding you and calming you down while you’re pouring your eyes out. It’s someone voicing all the good things about you when all you see is the bad. It’s someone making sure you’re okay, someone praying for you every day and night. It’s someone that makes you laugh and smile when you feel down

12 of the 15 SC justices, including the Chief Justice, are Digong appointees. So when lawyers like @jesusfalcis are sanctioned while Sara Duterte appears untouchable, can @SCPh_PIO really blame Filipinos for questioning whether the rules apply equally? Prove that no lawyer, no politician, and no Duterte is above the law.
Thea Tan@imtheatan

The Supreme Court handed down a one-year suspension to Atty. @jesusfalcis. His offense? A 2018 tweet where he fiercely defended his brother by using vulgar language (“Paky* kayo mga g*ga”!). The High Court ruled it as simple misconduct and declared that the Code of Professional Responsibility and Accountability (CPRA) strictly mandates lawyers to maintain dignified language, even on personal social media accounts. Okay, if the baseline for "dignity of the profession" is THAT strict, how on earth is Vice President Sara Duterte, who is also a lawyer, still holding onto her law license? If we are talking about actual violations, her verbatim, public receipts are entirely unhinged. Let us enumerate some: 1. Sara Duterte didn't just casually throw bad words around. In her streamed press briefings, she completely abandoned any shred of professional decorum and screamed on live broadcast: “P*tang ina mo BBM! P*tang ina mo Liza! P*tang ina mo Martin! P*tang ina ninyong lahat!” “Binastos pa nila sa pagsisinungaling nila na kesyo taksil, kesyo corrupt, abusado. P*tang ina ninyo, sino ang corrupt?” 2. Let's NEVER forget when she was a city mayor and an active member of the bar. Instead of upholding the law, she literally used a court sheriff as a human punching bag! She grabbed him and repeatedly punched him in the face and head on camera just for executing a lawful court order. Kagalang-galang yarn? 3. She openly admitted on live television to hiring an assassin to target the country's top leaders if a supposed plot against her succeeded: “I’ve talked to a person. I said, if I get killed, don’t stop until you k*ll BBM, Liza Araneta, and Martin Romualdez. No joke. No joke." 4. She casually bragged during a press conference about threatening to desecrate a former president's remains: “Isang beses, sinabihan ko talaga si Sen. Imee. Sabi ko sa kanya, kung hindi kayo tumigil, huhukayin ko 'yang tatay ninyo, itatapon ko siya sa West Philippine Sea!” 5. She publicly detailed her thoughts of extreme physical violence against the sitting president: “I wanted to remove his head. I realized the relationship was already toxic... [I] just imagine myself cutting his head." An ordinary attorney gets a one-year suspension for typing profanities on Twitter to protect his sibling. Meanwhile, a high-profile lawyer and the sitting Vice President can publicly brag about hitmen, look at a camera to detail cutting off the President's head, threaten to dig up a former president’s corpse, physically assault a court sheriff, and scream “p*tang ina ninyong lahat" on live broadcast with zero professional consequences! Hello, IBP? Ano na? The CPRA allows you to initiate disbarment proceedings motu proprio when a lawyer's misconduct is THIS flagrant and very public! The rules apparently apply to everyone except her. Time to strip her of that license! ###

Your phone charger can electrocute a toddler who pokes a fork into the socket. The British plug cannot. That difference comes from a 1947 engineering project that refused every shortcut and turned a household plug into one of the most deliberately safe objects ever mass-produced. Britain published BS 1363 in 1947, built for the post-war housing boom. The country was wiring millions of new homes at once and needed one standard that would work safely for everyone. They picked the most paranoid option available. The earth pin (the large top prong) is longer than the other two. When you push a British plug in, the earth pin goes in first. Inside the socket, it presses a lever that opens two metal shutters covering the live and neutral slots. A fork pushed into an empty British socket hits only shutters. The shutters block it. The two conducting pins are also coated in plastic for their lower half. A plug halfway out of the wall is still safe to touch. You would have to pull it completely clear before any live metal is exposed. Inside every plug is its own fuse. UK homes wire their sockets in a loop called a ring circuit, which runs at 32 amps, enough to melt a lamp's cord if the cord fails. So each plug carries a fuse matched to the appliance: 3 amps for a lamp, 13 for a kettle. When something goes wrong in your appliance's wiring, only that plug's fuse blows. The standard US plug (flat two-pin or three-pin) has none of the pin coating and no individual fuse. American building codes began requiring shuttered outlets in new construction in 2008, decades after Britain made shutters standard. Even those newer shuttered versions lack pin coating and plug-level fuses. Britain's plug is bulky because a fuse, a shutter mechanism, insulated pins, and three contact prongs all need room. The plug looks the way it does because safety engineers refused to sacrifice any of those features to make it smaller, and that decision is now 79 years old.
